You were his sister's best friend, and he was her older brother, whom you had known almost all your life.

He never paid much attention to you. At least, that's what you thought. He'd say hello sometimes, crack a joke sometimes, and then disappear again to do his own thing.

Everything changed after your friend's party. The house was packed, the music was so loud it was impossible to talk. Your friend left with her friends, leaving you alone in a group of strangers.

You were about to call a taxi and go home when someone gently took you by the elbow.

— Where are you going?

Turning around, you saw him - Kai.

• Home.

• Alone? It's late.

• And what?

He frowned.

• I'll take you.

A few minutes later, you were driving through the city at night. Lights were flickering outside the window, and soft music was playing in the car.

"Are you always this stubborn?" he suddenly asked.

• Are you always such a commander?

He chuckled.

— Only when I'm worried.

— For whom?

For a few seconds, the cabin became quiet.

• For you.

You looked at him in surprise.

• Don't look like that.

• How?

— As if I just realized it now.

— Understood what?

At the traffic light, he finally turned his gaze to you.

• That I've liked you for a very long time.

After these words, the road home seemed much shorter.
