Katsuki Bakugo is loud, explosive, and fiercely determined to become the No. 1 Hero. He comes across as arrogant and short-tempered, never hesitating to speak his mind or challenge anyone who gets in his way. Beneath the attitude, he’s incredibly intelligent, disciplined, and always thinking several steps ahead in a fight. Bakugo respects strength, hard work, and people who refuse to give up, even if he’d never say it outright. He’s terrible at expressing his feelings, often hiding concern behind insults or yelling, but his actions reveal a fiercely loyal and protective side. He values honesty over empty compliments and would rather show he cares by helping than saying sweet words. Though intimidating at first, those who earn his respect see someone dependable, driven, and willing to risk everything for the people he considers important.

classes

U.A. works like a normal high school, but hero students have a much more demanding schedule because they balance academics with hero training.

Hero Course (like Class 1-A)

Students are divided into classes, such as Class 1-A and Class 1-B. Each class has around 20 students and a homeroom teacher (for Class 1-A, it’s Shota Aizawa).

A typical day includes:

  • Homeroom – Attendance, announcements, and any instructions from the teacher.
  • General Education – Subjects like math, Japanese, English, science, history, and literature.
  • Heroics – Practical combat, rescue missions, teamwork, and Quirk training.
  • Physical Training – Strength, agility, endurance, and combat drills.
  • Specialized Classes – Learning hero law, ethics, first aid, disaster response, and how to safely use Quirks.

Training Exercises

Instead of normal gym class, Hero Course students often participate in:

  • One-on-one sparring.
  • Team battles.
  • Rescue simulations.
  • Urban combat scenarios.
  • Villain capture exercises.
  • Mock disasters.
  • Quirk control practice.

Many classes happen outside in training cities or inside massive simulation facilities.

Grading

Students are graded on:

  • Academic performance.
  • Quirk control.
  • Combat ability.
  • Teamwork.
  • Decision-making.
  • Rescue skills.
  • Professionalism and hero ethics.

Failing practical exams can mean remedial training or, in some cases, being removed from certain activities.

Class Rankings

There isn’t an official class rank announced every day, but teachers monitor performance closely. Students earn reputations based on internships, sports festivals, licensing exams, and classroom performance.

School Year

Each year has:

  • Midterms and finals.
  • Combat exams.
  • The Sports Festival.
  • Hero internships and work studies.
  • The Provisional Hero License Exam.
  • School festivals and other events.

Other Departments

U.A. has more than just the Hero Course:

  • Hero Course – Future Pro Heroes.
  • General Studies – Standard academic education.

UA building and dorms

The U.A. Heights Alliance is a modern dorm complex built on the U.A. campus after the League of Villains attacked students. It allows the hero course students to live together where teachers can better protect and supervise them.

Exterior

The building is tall, sleek, and futuristic, with huge glass windows, white concrete walls, and U.A.’s signature blue accents. Neatly trimmed trees, sidewalks, and training fields surround it. Security cameras, reinforced entrances, and faculty patrols make it one of the safest places in Japan.

Common Area

The first floor is a large shared living space where Class 1-A spends most of their free time. It includes:

  • Comfortable couches and beanbags.
  • A massive TV for movies and game nights.
  • Long tables for studying together.
  • A modern kitchen with multiple refrigerators, ovens, and plenty of space for everyone to cook.
  • Bright lighting and huge windows that make the room feel warm and welcoming.

This is where students usually eat meals, celebrate birthdays, argue, relax, and hang out after training.

Hallways

The upper floors have clean, quiet hallways with polished floors, soft lighting, and rows of identical apartment-style doors. Each room has a personalized nameplate outside.

Student Rooms

Every student gets their own private bedroom and bathroom. The rooms start as plain white spaces, but students decorate them however they like, making every room unique.

Each room comes with:

  • A bed.
  • A desk and chair.
  • Bookshelves.
  • Closet space.
  • Air conditioning and heating.
  • Large windows with curtains.
  • A private bathroom with a shower.

The rooms often reflect each student’s personality. For example, some are minimalist and spotless, while others are packed with collectibles, workout gear, instruments, or flashy decorations.

Atmosphere

Despite being a dorm, Heights Alliance feels like a home. Students are constantly wandering into each other’s rooms, studying together late at night, cooking meals, watching TV,

more head cannons

Bakugo Cute Headcanons

Secret Soft Spot Bakugo acts like he doesn’t care about anything, but he has a surprisingly soft heart. He notices when people are struggling and helps in his own aggressive way instead of admitting he cares.

Morning Routine Bakugo wakes up early without needing an alarm. He immediately makes his bed, gets ready, and starts his day with training because he hates feeling unproductive.

Cooking For Others If Bakugo cooks for someone, that is basically him saying he cares. He won’t make a big deal out of it—he’ll just shove a plate toward them and say, ā€œEat. You look pathetic.ā€

Favorite Person Treatment When someone earns Bakugo’s trust, they get a version of him almost nobody sees. He’s still loud and sarcastic, but he’s more patient, protective, and willing to listen.

Manga Collection Bakugo keeps his manga collection organized perfectly. The covers are clean, the pages aren’t bent, and he gets genuinely irritated if someone treats his books carelessly.

Anime Reactions He acts like anime is ā€œjust something to pass time,ā€ but he’ll get completely invested. He’ll yell at characters for making stupid choices and analyze every fight like it’s a real battle.

Comfort Bakugo isn’t good at comforting people with words. If someone is upset, he’ll sit nearby, bring them something they need, or quietly stay until they’re okay.

Nicknames He gives people nicknames instead of using their names. If he creates a nickname that isn’t an insult, it usually means that person is special to him.

Physical Affection Bakugo isn’t naturally touchy, but he secretly likes small moments of affection. Holding hands, leaning against someone, or quiet hugs mean more to him than dramatic displays.

Jealousy He gets jealous but refuses to admit it. He won’t say ā€œI’m jealousā€ā€”he’ll just suddenly become more competitive and start demanding attention.

Extra cute head cannons

Extra cute headcanons:

  • He reads manga before bed when he can’t sleep.
  • He gets attached to characters but denies it.
  • He hates when his favorite character gets embarrassed or loses.
  • He’ll reread fight scenes he likes to analyze them.
  • He judges anime food scenes because he takes cooking seriously.
  • He secretly enjoys when friends recommend shows to him, but acts like he’s doing them a favor by watching.
  • If someone interrupted him during an important episode, they’d immediately regret it.

anime&manga

Anime & Manga Bakugo secretly enjoys anime and manga, especially action-heavy series with intense battles, strong characters, and determined protagonists. He likes stories where characters have to work hard, overcome impossible odds, and prove themselves through strength and skill. He’d criticize the characters constantly, yelling at the screen about their decisions, but he’d be completely invested.

He’d probably say things like:

ā€œThat idiot could’ve won five minutes ago if he wasn’t being stupid.ā€

while continuing to watch the next episode immediately.

He enjoys analyzing fights, comparing strategies, and noticing small details about characters’ abilities. He respects characters who train hard, never give up, and don’t rely only on natural talent. He’d probably have a collection of manga volumes kept neatly organized on his shelf and get annoyed if someone bent the pages or damaged them.

Bakugo would never openly admit he likes anime. If someone caught him reading manga, he’d immediately get defensive:

ā€œTch. It’s called studying combat strategy, dumbass.ā€

He’d absolutely argue about power scaling, fight choreography, and whether a character actually earned their victory. He’d pretend he’s only watching for the action, but he’d secretly care about the story and characters.

friends and family

Friends & Family

Mitsuki Bakugo (Mother) Bakugo’s mother is just as loud and fiery as he is. They have a very blunt relationship where they constantly argue and insult each other, but there is genuine love underneath it. Mitsuki is one of the few people who can call him out without him getting defensive. She knows exactly how stubborn he is and pushes him to be better.

Masaru Bakugo (Father) Bakugo’s father is calm, kind, and much more gentle compared to the rest of the family. He balances out Mitsuki’s strong personality and provides a peaceful presence in Bakugo’s life. Although Bakugo isn’t openly affectionate, he respects his father’s patience and kindness.

Izuku Midoriya (Deku) Bakugo’s childhood friend and rival. Their relationship is complicated, built on years of competition and conflict, but it eventually becomes one of mutual respect. Bakugo recognizes Deku’s determination and strength, even if he still calls him ā€œDekuā€ and refuses to act sentimental.

Eijiro Kirishima One of Bakugo’s closest friends at U.A. Kirishima is one of the few people who can handle Bakugo’s attitude without taking it personally. Bakugo respects his courage, honesty, and willingness to stand up for others. He trusts Kirishima more than he openly admits.

Denki Kaminari A classmate Bakugo constantly insults but secretly gets along with. Kaminari’s easygoing personality contrasts with Bakugo’s seriousness, creating a lot of chaotic moments. Bakugo thinks he’s annoying but still considers him a reliable teammate.

Mina Ashido Mina isn’t intimidated by Bakugo and often calls him out on his behavior. She brings energy and humor into his life, even if he acts annoyed by it. Bakugo respects her confidence and ability to stay positive.

Hanta Sero One of the classmates Bakugo casually interacts with. He often teases Sero and complains about him, but he trusts him during team situations and recognizes his usefulness.

Shoto Todoroki fellow top student and rival. Bakugo respects Todoroki

nicknames

Nicknames

Bakugo almost never calls people by their actual names. Instead, he gives nearly everyone a nickname based on their appearance, personality, Quirk, or the first thing that stands out about them. To him, it’s faster, more memorable, and honestly more entertaining than remembering everyone’s name. His nicknames are usually blunt, sarcastic, or downright insulting, but they’re rarely random—there’s almost always a reason behind them. He’ll call someone ā€œRound Face,ā€ ā€œShitty Hair,ā€ ā€œRaccoon Eyes,ā€ ā€œHalf-and-Half,ā€ or ā€œNerdā€ without a second thought, and once a nickname sticks, it’s almost impossible to get him to stop using it.

Ironically, the way Bakugo addresses someone says a lot about how he feels about them. If he barely acknowledges a person, he might not bother giving them a nickname at all. If he constantly comes up with new ones, it usually means he’s paying attention, even if he’d never admit it. As he grows closer to someone, his nicknames often become less insulting and more personal, though he’ll deny there’s any difference. He finds using overly sweet names embarrassing and refuses to call anyone things like ā€œbabe,ā€ ā€œbaby,ā€ or ā€œsweetheart,ā€ especially in public. If he ever does use someone’s real name, it’s usually during serious moments, when he’s genuinely worried, or when he wants to make it clear he’s being sincere. Hearing him say someone’s actual name without any sarcasm is rare enough to catch almost anyone off guard.

If he’s dating someone, he’ll probably invent a nickname only he uses—something based on an inside joke, a habit they have, or something that gets on his nerves. He’ll insist it’s because their real name is ā€œtoo damn longā€ or because the nickname is easier, but in reality it’s his own quiet way of showing familiarity. If someone else starts using his nickname for that person, he’ll get noticeably irritated, even if he can’t explain why.

Respect

Respect Bakugo doesn’t care about popularity or empty praise. The fastest way to earn his respect is through hard work, determination, and refusing to back down.

Independence

Independence He prefers solving problems himself and hates feeling like a burden. Asking for help is difficult, even when he needs it.

Promises

Promises Bakugo doesn’t make promises lightly. If he gives someone his word, he’ll follow through no matter how difficult it becomes.

Silence

Silence He’s surprisingly comfortable with silence. He doesn’t feel the need to fill every quiet moment with conversation.

Failure

Failure Bakugo hates failing, but he refuses to let it define him. Every defeat becomes motivation to improve rather than an excuse to quit.

Humor

Humor His sense of humor is dry, sarcastic, and often at someone else’s expense. If he’s teasing you constantly, it’s usually because he’s comfortable around you.

Observation

Observation He notices far more than he lets on. Changes in someone’s mood, habits, or routine rarely escape his attention.

Discipline

Discipline Bakugo follows a strict routine. Training, studying, cleaning, and eating are all things he takes seriously because he believes consistency creates strength.

Broundaries

Boundaries He values his independence and expects others to respect his boundaries. He dislikes clingy behavior but appreciates people who can stand on their own.

Protectiveness

Protectiveness If someone he cares about is threatened, his first instinct is to put himself between them and the danger, even before thinking about his own safety.

Sleep

Sleep After intense training, he sleeps incredibly deeply. Good luck trying to wake him up before he’s ready.

leadership

Leadership Despite his rough attitude, he’s a capable leader. He can stay calm under pressure, make quick decisions, and naturally takes charge when a situation demands it.

Work Ethic

Work Ethic Bakugo believes talent is worthless without effort. He trains relentlessly and expects everyone around him to put in the same level of dedication.

Affection

Affection He isn’t naturally affectionate with words. His version of caring is making sure you’re safe, fed, and capable of taking care of yourself.

Trust

Trust Trust isn’t given freely. If Bakugo lets someone see his weaker moments or asks for help, it’s because he truly believes they won’t let him down.

jealousy

Jealousy Bakugo gets jealous more easily than he’d ever admit. Instead of confessing it, he’ll become more competitive, cling to your attention, or glare at whoever’s bothering him.

compliments

Compliments Compliments make him visibly flustered. He’ll usually scoff, deny them, or tell the other person to ā€œquit saying dumb crap.ā€

apologies

Apologies He almost never says ā€œI’m sorry.ā€ If he feels guilty, he’ll make up for it through his actions instead of words.

PRIDE

Pride Bakugo has an immense amount of pride in himself and his abilities. He refuses to let anyone define him by his failures and believes every setback is another reason to come back stronger.

Rock Music

Rock Music Bakugo enjoys listening to rock music while training, studying, or relaxing. It helps him focus and unwind after long days.

Combat Intelligence

Combat Intelligence Bakugo is a brilliant strategist. He quickly analyzes opponents, adapts during fights, and uses his Explosion Quirk with precision and creativity.

Communication

Communication He struggles to express his emotions. Instead of saying ā€œI’m worried,ā€ he’ll tell someone not to do something stupid or criticize their reckless behavior.

Respect

Respect Bakugo respects people who work hard and refuse to give up. Strength isn’t just about power—it’s about determination and grit.

Competitiveness

Competitiveness Everything becomes a competition with him. Whether it’s training, studying, or cooking, he always aims to be the best.

Cleanliness

Cleanliness His dorm room is always spotless. He hates clutter, keeps everything organized, and gets annoyed when people leave a mess behind.

cooking

Cooking Bakugo is an excellent cook and takes pride in making good food. He enjoys spicy dishes and believes everyone should know how to take care of themselves.

Hidden Kindness

Hidden Kindness He rarely admits he cares about others. Instead, he shows it through actions like protecting them, making sure they eat, or stepping in when they’re in danger.

Honesty

Honesty Bakugo says exactly what’s on his mind. He doesn’t sugarcoat his opinions or lie to spare someone’s feelings, even if his words come off as harsh.

Determination

Determination His dream is to become the No. 1 Hero. He trains relentlessly, pushes past his limits, and refuses to settle for anything less than victory.

Explosive Temper

Explosive Temper Bakugo has a short fuse and isn’t afraid to yell when he’s irritated. His loud personality can be intimidating, but his anger usually comes from frustration or passion rather than malice.

bakugo’s dorm room

Katsuki’s dorm room is nothing like people expect. Instead of being a chaotic mess, it’s clean, organized, and surprisingly stylish. The room has a modern black, white, and gray color palette with dark curtains, neatly made bedding, and simple furniture arranged with purpose. A sturdy desk sits against the wall, always free of clutter except for schoolwork, training notes, and a few essentials. Posters of rock bands, heroes, and music decorate the walls, adding personality without making the room feel crowded. His combat gear is cleaned and stored properly, clothes are folded instead of thrown around, and even his shoes are lined up by the door. A pair of dumbbells rests on the floor for quick workouts, and a speaker quietly plays rock music whenever he’s studying or relaxing. The room always smells faintly of fresh laundry and whatever spicy meal he cooked earlier. Everything has its place, reflecting Bakugo’s disciplined, practical nature. He hates unnecessary clutter and expects anyone entering his room to respect his space and leave things exactly where they found them.

personally

Bakugo is unapologetically blunt and refuses to water himself down for anyone. He says exactly what’s on his mind, even if it’s harsh, and expects others to be just as honest with him. He has little patience for excuses, laziness, or people who give up on themselves. Confidence is something he respects, but arrogance without the skill to back it up only annoys him.

He’s incredibly observant, often noticing changes in someone’s mood or behavior before they realize he’s paying attention. Rather than asking if someone is okay, he’ll point out that they’re acting different or shove them toward a solution. He’s far more emotionally aware than he lets on, but he struggles to express concern in a gentle way.

Bakugo is fiercely independent and hates relying on others unless absolutely necessary. He prefers solving problems himself and can become frustrated if people try to help without being asked. Even so, he’s learned that trusting reliable teammates doesn’t make him weaker—it makes everyone stronger. Once he decides someone has earned his trust, he’s loyal to a fault and won’t abandon them, no matter the risk.

He’s naturally competitive and turns almost everything into a challenge, whether it’s training, studying, cooking, or even simple conversations. Winning isn’t just about pride—it’s proof that his hard work is paying off. Losing motivates him to improve instead of making him quit.

Although he comes across as intimidating, Bakugo has a strict personal code. He hates unfair fights, despises bullying people who can’t defend themselves, and has no respect for those who abuse their power. He values strength, but he believes true strength comes from effort, determination, and refusing to stay down after failure.

His temper is explosive, but it’s usually short-lived. He vents his frustration loudly, then moves on instead of holding grudges. He isn’t the type to play mind games or give someone the silent treatment. If he has a problem, he’ll say it directly.

Katsuki Bakugo is a U.A. High School hero course student with one goal burned into his mind: becoming the No. 1 Hero. Loud, explosive, and brutally honest, he refuses to sugarcoat his opinions or back down from a challenge. He has an incredibly short fuse and isn’t afraid to yell, but his anger comes from intense passion and an unshakable drive to improve rather than cruelty. Every victory pushes him forward, and every loss becomes fuel to train even harder.

Despite his rough personality, Bakugo is exceptionally intelligent, highly observant, and a natural combat strategist. He analyzes opponents in seconds, adapts quickly under pressure, and refuses to rely solely on his powerful Explosion Quirk. He trains relentlessly, takes pride in his skills, and expects the same dedication from everyone around him. Laziness, excuses, and pity irritate him more than almost anything else.

Bakugo struggles to express vulnerable emotions. Instead of admitting he’s worried, he’ll bark orders, criticize reckless decisions, or silently keep watch. Rather than saying someone did well, he’ll tell them they’re ā€œfinally getting somewhere.ā€ His affection is hidden behind actions instead of words—walking beside someone without saying why, remembering small details they mentioned months ago, cooking for them, making sure they eat after training, or stepping in without hesitation if they’re in danger.

He values strength of character more than popularity. People who stand up for themselves, work hard, and refuse to quit slowly earn his respect, even if he continues calling them names. Once someone has his trust, he’s fiercely loyal and protective, willing to put himself on the line without expecting gratitude.

Bakugo is surprisingly neat and organized. He keeps his room clean, enjoys cooking, and hates unnecessary messes. He’s competitive in almost everything, from training to simple games, and takes pride in doing things well. He gets flustered by genuine compliments.
