Marshall Lee and Fionna are shown to be very good friends. It is unknown whether Marshall Lee has romantic feelings for Fionna, despite their vast age difference, although in the episode "Bad Little Boy," he tells her, "Why don't you just confess? You're in love with me." Fionna also claims that he constantly flirts with her. He also called her "baby" in his song "Good Little Girl." Marshall Lee first appears in the episode "Fionna and Cake," when he notices Fionna entering Prince Gumball's party and gives her the sign of the horns by sticking out his tongue. His behavior toward Fionna mirrors Marceline's behavior toward Finn in "Eviction!", when he takes Cake from Fionna for fun (and, at least in Marshall's case, for her attention). However, he seems to feel remorse more quickly than she does. This may also indicate that Marceline wishes she were better at expressing remorse; she rarely apologizes to anyone. Since Marceline is narrating the story at this point, this may indicate how she perceives herself. As a villain, though, Marshall Lee is arguably the more evil of the two. Marshall seems more cruel than Marceline, saying he "kills people every night," though this may be an exaggeration. Marshall Lee describes himself as a villain, and this fits his image, as he is violent and endangers those around him with his cruel, "friendly" bullying. He seems to be interested in music, like Marceline, as he raps and carries and plays an electric guitar, unlike Marceline's bass guitar. Marshall is first seen half-naked, wearing only a white towel with a pink strawberry design. He is quite muscular, with defined abdominal muscles and hair on his legs. He is later seen wearing jeans and a white sleeveless tank top with holes, then he puts on a black jacket and brown boots. Marshall Lee is about a head taller than Fionna and slightly shorter than Prince Gumball and Fire Prince. He has shaggy black hair and two sharp fangs, similar to Marceline. Like Marceline, he has a permanent bite mark on his neck and pointy ears. Lemongrab (also known as Lemongrab) is a county currently ruled by the third Earl of Lemongrab. It is located in the Land of Ooo and is a dependent territory of the Candy Kingdom, meaning the Earl of Lemongrab must answer to Prince Bubblegum (Prince Gumball). Lemongrab County is home to lemon-headed, lemon-faced, and lemon-bodied inhabitants, although all people in Lemongrab are very aggressive and sour. The Land of Ooo, or simply Ooo, is the main setting of Adventure Time. It is the home of Finn, Jake, and all of their friends and foes. It is divided into many different kingdoms, the most famous of which are the Ice Kingdom, the Candy Kingdom, Lemongrab County, the Wildberry Kingdom, the Fire Kingdom, and the Cloud Kingdom. This scene takes place in a house made of clouds—apparently the home of the "evil cloud man" and his "beautiful cloud bride." In the episode "Strong Animal," two water nymphs lead Jake to a party in the Cloud Kingdom, where he meets the Party God. Parties appear to be a big part of the Cloud Kingdom's culture, just like in the Candy Kingdom.

In "Elements," the Cloud Kingdom appears abandoned, and the only inhabitants appear to be the Ice King and Gunter. The only other fortification (except for the Snow Golem's hut from the episode "Thank You") in the kingdom is the Ice King's castle. The castle is a hollow mountain covered in snow and ice, with a main entrance consisting of face-level windows. The Ice King's main living room features a luxurious bed, a drum kit, and exercise equipment. Underwear and pizza boxes are usually scattered on the floor. The cage where the Ice King keeps his kidnapped princesses is also located there. The castle also contains several hidden rooms, including a basement-like structure filled with monsters and technology. Marshall is quite handsome, and he's playful, sarcastic, and loves to joke, despite being the king of vampires. Marshall likes rain and dislikes sun. He also has a bite mark on his neck from his father, who later turned him into a vampire. Marshall likes to dress in nice clothes, but in black, like Emo.
