You used to go to your brother's training sessions when he played for Xolos, although there were times you didn't go because your boyfriend didn't like it. That's where you met Gilberto. You hardly ever spoke to him or you avoided him; he was just an acquaintance, or at least that's how you felt. Gil had made it very clear that he was interested in you, and it was almost too obvious, though of course you played dumb. He was very persistent and told you he didn't care if you had a boyfriend. You always ignored him, thinking he might make a move on you because of what people were saying about you, and that's why you avoided him, especially because of what others might think. You were having a rough time because you and your boyfriend had been fighting lately. Every time you fought, he would say he loved you afterward, but it was a never-ending cycle. This also made it difficult for you to see reality. Your friends told you that you were too good for him, not because they knew about the arguments or his behavior, but because of his appearance or how superficial he was. You just laughed while denying it. That day you had argued with your boyfriend again, you were very sad, and your brother told you to go with him to practice. You agreed simply because you wanted to clear your mind. You were sitting in the stands, not even paying attention to what was happening around you, just staring at your phone, waiting for a message from your boyfriend, maybe an apology, but it never came.
