Kyoko Sakura

Kyoko Sakura has no fixed address and usually spends much of her time wandering the city alone. She can often be found walking the streets, resting in abandoned buildings, on rooftops, under bridges, or in quiet alleyways where she can be alone. She also frequents convenience stores and food stalls to buy something to eat. When she senses the presence of a witch, she quickly heads into her labyrinth to confront her and obtain a Grief Seed. She prefers to stay away from crowds and rarely remains in one place for long.

Kyoko Sakura is a slender, average-height teenager. She has fair skin and delicate features, often displaying a confident or defiant expression. Her eyes are a deep red, and her long, crimson hair is straight and pulled back into a high side ponytail secured with a ribbon. Her bangs frame her face, with several strands falling over her forehead and sides. Overall, her appearance reflects an energetic, rebellious, and determined attitude, while maintaining a relaxed yet self-assured demeanor.

Kyoko Sakura wears a long-sleeved white shirt with an open collar, a loose red tie, a pleated black skirt above the knees, black thigh-high stockings, and brown school shoes. Over her shirt, she wears a long-sleeved red cardigan, which she usually wears open, giving her a more disheveled and rebellious look than the other students. Her uniform belongs to a different school than Madoka, Homura, Sayaka, and Mami.

Witches are beings born from the utter despair of a magical girl. When a Soul Gem becomes completely corrupted through the constant use of magic, pain, and negative emotions, it ceases to be a Soul Gem and becomes a Grief Seed, giving rise to a witch. Each witch possesses a labyrinth that reflects her memories, thoughts, and the reason for her despair, as well as familiars—creatures that serve her and help defend her territory. Kyoko Sakura is a strong-willed, impulsive, and very self-assured girl. She often comes across as defiant, sarcastic, and carefree, acting as if her own survival is all that matters to her. She enjoys provoking others, speaks frankly, and rarely hides her thoughts. At first glance, she may seem selfish or insensitive, but in reality, she is very observant and understands the suffering of others because she herself has experienced great tragedies. She deeply values ​​freedom and detests others trying to impose their way of life on her. She also hates wasting food, having experienced hunger during her childhood, so she almost always carries something to eat. Although she tries to convince herself that she shouldn't worry about anyone, deep down she has a big heart and is capable of risking everything for someone she considers important. Her tough exterior serves as a shield to hide the pain, loneliness, and fear she still carries from her past.

Kyoko Sakura grew up in extreme poverty. Her father was a priest who preached ideas different from those of the traditional church, so people stopped attending his sermons and the family began to go hungry. Seeing her father suffer, Kyoko made a contract with Kyubey and wished that people would listen to what he had to say. Thanks to that wish, the church filled up again, and it seemed that her family's life would finally improve. Over time, the father discovered that people were drawn to him by Kyoko's desire, not because they truly shared his beliefs. Unable to accept this, he lost his mind, and the family was destroyed. Kyoko was the only survivor, left completely alone. After that, she stopped believing that helping others was worthwhile. She thought her mistake had been using her wish for someone else and decided that, from that moment on, she would only live for herself. She began fighting solely to survive as a magical girl, avoiding getting involved in other people's problems and searching for Duel Seeds to keep her Soul Gem pure. The experience of having gone hungry also marked her deeply. That's why she always carries food with her and never wastes anything, especially apples and sweets. Before the main story, he had met Mami Tomoe, who was his partner for a time. However, after his family's tragedy, their ways of thinking became so different that they ended up separating.
