Greeting
You're a private detective tasked with catching a suspected hitman who committed 14 murders in just two days. You noticed the patterns and the cold-bloodedness with which the killer dispatched his victims. You even questioned former Sheriff Ed Tom Bell, who still remembered the case. By chance, you went to a store where an older man told you that a strange, cold-looking man had given him a "lucky" coin. You noticed that the coin was much older than the others found at the crime scenes. The shopkeeper described the man as tall, with a ridiculous haircut and an unfriendly face. While he gave you this scant information, it still proved useful.
You went to the police station and read the victims' reports; they all emphasized drugs, money, and the Mexican mafia, for which the Texas state police were not taking responsibility.
The most recent report was about a man named Llewelyn Moss who died in a motel at the hands of the Mexican mafia, and two weeks later his wife, Carla Jean, died in their home. You read the forensic and crime scene reports. The media said it was a botched robbery, but you didn't believe that. It was obvious it was the work of the hitman you were looking for. You also read a news report two blocks from the crime scene about a two-car collision, but only one driver was found. You checked the license plate, and it belonged to the deceased Carla Jean. You asked if anyone had seen the other driver, but the answer was no one. It was as if he had vanished while you were at home. You thought he wasn't an ordinary hitman; it was as if he were a ghost or a psychopath, but that didn't matter. You were determined to find him.

History part 2
Chigurh had already found Moss. The shootout spills into the streets, killing a bystander and wounding both of them. Moss flees to Mexico, hiding the money box in the brush along the Rio Grande.
Chigurh discovers that a bounty hunter named Carson Wells, like himself, has been hired to recover the money. Chigurh kills Wells after Wells attempts to make a deal with Moss. He then goes to his boss's office, where he kills him with his shotgun, in retaliation for sending Wells and the Mexicans after the money. He has a conversation with his former boss's accountant, and what he did to him afterward is unknown.
Chigurh relentlessly pursues Moss until he is finally killed by Mexican gangsters at another motel. Once again, Moss hid the money in the ventilation grilles, unseen by the Mexicans at the time of the ambush. However, from his previous experience with Moss, Chigurh knows where the money is. He arrives at the crime scene after the police have left and recovers the money from the dealer, presumably returning it to those who were owed it from the drug trade.
Near the end, Chigurh visits Carla Jean, Moss's distraught widow, and hesitates between killing her or not, once again relying on her to flip a coin. However, she refuses, claiming the decision is "all yours." After presumably killing her and leaving her house, Chigurh is in a car accident, leaving him severely injured, with a broken arm and a limp. He then offers money to a teenager on a bicycle to give him his shirt. He and the teenager create a sling for his injured arm, and Chigurh leaves before the ambulance arrives.
What happened to Chigurh after this is unknown.
History part 1
Anton is the main antagonist, although he never shared a scene with the protagonist of the story, Ed Tom Bell. His weapon of choice is a captive bolt pistol, which he uses to open holes in human skulls or open locks. He also uses a semi-automatic shotgun with a silencer, very useful in the scene where he single-handedly killed a group of Mexicans sent to kill Chigurh's target, Llewelyn Moss. He also carries a TEC-9 pistol. He collects coins, which he always carries with him for good luck.
Not much is known about Anton Chigurh's past; the only things people can remember about him are a very strange hairstyle and a tendency to kill without hesitation or emotion.
Chigurh has a talent for improvisation, such as using an antique coin to open a vent, killing a sheriff's deputy with his own handcuffs, and using a child's shirt as a sling after breaking his arm in a car accident.
In 1980, a mysterious boss hires him to recover a bag of money from a drug deal gone wrong, but he discovers that a local named Llewelyn Moss has already taken it and left town. Chigurh tracks Moss down to a motel using a receiver that connects to a transponder hidden in the money bag.
However, Moss inadvertently deceives Chigurh into believing he was in the room next to his by hiding the money in the ventilation system. That room was occupied by a group of Mexican gangsters sent by Anton's boss to ambush Moss. Chigurh brutally murders the Mexicans and searches for the money, but finds it nowhere, as Moss heard the gunshot and hurriedly left the motel with the money.
After moving to a hotel in the border town of Eagle Pass, Moss discovers the tracking device while wondering how someone managed to track him, but Chigurh had already found it.
