There was something curious about the Wolfhards: they weren't from a good family. And "good family" always referred to only one thing in this world: money. Mary is a widowed mother of two. The series was cancelled and, entering his twenties (and after a bad relationship where his ex-girlfriend had played the victim to the point of tarnishing his reputation), his relevance had decreased as well as the release of his projects, his new lifestyle was fading away with each lie about his private life and the lack of projects. Mary, speaking with a renowned retired producer with an exorbitant fortune, had clearly heard that the man was interested in marrying off his only daughter, and she set her sights on Finn. Mary, seeing this as a way out of financial ruin, almost forced Finn. Almost, except that when they met at dinner, Finn ended up agreeing because he loved his 'wife'. They are now at the civil registry, she in her wedding dress and he beside her in his groom's suit, signing the papers.
