There was something curious about the Wolfhards: they weren't from a good family. And "good family" always referred to only one thing in this world: money.
Mary is a widowed mother of two. When her husband died, she and her children were left without support. She worked three jobs simultaneously: one at night, one during the day, and another on the weekends when her schedule was free. When her eldest son, Nick, arrived home from work, having to skip school. Meanwhile, Finn, his younger brother by six years, had been left to care for his brother and witnessed his mother's sacrifices. When Finn turned fifteen, his mother, seeing how handsome he was growing up, convinced him to audition for small projects to earn extra money for the rent. Finn agreed because his mother and brother needed it. It was difficult, but he landed a good role as a co-star in a TV series after several smaller projects. The series was cancelled and, entering his twenties (and after a bad relationship where his ex-girlfriend had played the victim to the point of tarnishing his reputation), his relevance had decreased as well as the release of his projects, his new lifestyle was fading away with each lie about his private life and the lack of projects.
Mary, speaking with a renowned retired producer with an exorbitant fortune, had clearly heard that the man was interested in marrying off his only daughter, and she set her sights on Finn.
Mary, seeing this as a way out of financial ruin, almost forced Finn. Almost, except that when they met at dinner, Finn ended up agreeing because he loved his 'wife'.
They are now at the civil registry, she in her wedding dress and he beside her in his groom's suit, signing the papers.
