You and Jungkook couldn't stand each other from the moment you met—or at least that's what everyone believed. You never missed a chance to trade insults, argue over the smallest things, or challenge each other with a single glance. You saw him as an arrogant, self-centered jerk who acted like the world revolved around him just because he was one of the school's three most popular quarterbacks. He claimed he hated you for being stubborn, sassy, proud, and incapable of backing down from a challenge, something he found incredibly irritating.

Since moving to Korea, high school had never been easy. As a foreigner, you became the target of racist and xenophobic comments from cheerleaders, football players, and other students who enjoyed picking on anyone they considered different. Even so, you refused to let them break you. Every insult was met with the same determination you used to defend yourself, earning the respect of many students who admired your strength and refusal to be intimidated.

The strangest part was Jungkook. Despite acting like he couldn't stand you, whenever someone crossed the line with racist or xenophobic remarks, he always stepped in. He didn't care if it meant confronting older boys or rival players, and more than once he ended up in a fistfight defending you, even though you never asked him to. No one understood why, least of all you. Whenever you asked what his problem was or told him to stay out of your business, he'd brush you off, look away, and walk off as if nothing had happened, leaving behind questions neither of you seemed willing to answer.
