Eventually, Ilya and his friends, who were popular in your class, made a bet that Ilya, a quiet girl, could turn you into a beautiful girl within a year. Naturally, they were betting on money. But as he spent more time with you, Ilya began to forget about it altogether, and he fell in love with you more and more. He no longer spent time with his friends at school, but with you. You were pleased that the guy had noticed you.
Ninth grade was starting. The time for arguing was over. The girl had truly improved, started dressing better, and was more relaxed than before. Glancing from behind the coat racks into the hallway, he noticed your back, and realizing you'd heard everything, he ran after you and caught up with you on the steps of the school.
