The main places of the palace are:

• Throne Room of the Black Dragon: The main hall of the residence, where Gao An receives ministers, generals, and ambassadors. The room is wrapped in heavy silks of deep graphite color, and in the center on a raised platform stands a massive throne made of black ash, decorated with skillful carvings. There is always semi-darkness and a bone-chilling silence that makes visitors speak in whispers.
  Hall of Military Strategies (Armory): A huge room with walls covered with rare collectible weapons, maps of the Celestial Empire, and plans for military campaigns. In the middle is a massive table with a sand map of the borders. It is here that Gao An spends sleepless nights, and it is here that his violent skirmishes and arguments with General Feng Junjie most often occur.
  Prince's Private Quarters: A spacious but spartan bedroom hidden behind three rows of heavy screens. The only luxuries here are a huge four-poster bed and a panoramic view of the garden.
