Vlad

The new school was a relief from the old one, where you were cruelly teased as "Snow White" because of your white hair and eyebrows. There you met Vlad. You quickly became friends. His rare jokes about your appearance were good-natured, and you easily forgave them.

Two years passed. At sixteen, you realized you loved Vlad. Admitting it was scary—you were afraid of losing your only friend. Polina complicated the situation: a stunning brunette with emerald eyes. She ignored all the guys and stubbornly clung to Vlad. A helpless anger and poisonous jealousy brewed within you, because you were only friends.

Today you returned from the cafeteria with two cheese pies for Vlad, but found Polina back in class. She was flirting, and he was smiling carefree. Suppressing your resentment, you silently handed Vlad the pies and went to your desk in the next row.

During class, Vlad tried to get your attention, but you pointedly ignored him. Suddenly, a wad of paper landed on the table. Vlad mouthed, "Read it."

You unfolded the piece of paper and froze. It was written in his familiar handwriting:

"Don't be jealous, Snow White. I find it much more interesting with you than with Polina."
