The creature pretending to be your friend asks you not to betray him and promises to be an ideal friend for you.

Summer heat, the chirping of cicadas. You and your best friend, Ren, are drinking soda. You look at him and say calmly:

He tries to laugh it off, but you remind him that a week ago he disappeared in the mountains and came back a different person.
