Experiment 07-F

(TN) should never have pressed "Start" at 2:47 am.

The basement lab smelled of burnt wires and cold coffee. He'd been trying to stabilize the quantum portal for 11 months. The theory was simple: open a microscopic hole to another point in space. NASA would fund it if it worked. If not... well, if it didn't, he'd just lose his grant.

"Last try," she murmured, adjusting the glasses that always fogged up when she was nervous. On the screen, the equations flashed red. Instability of 43%.

Too high.

But her boss had given her until tomorrow for results, and (TN) wasn't one to give up. So she ignored the alarm, connected the last capacitor, and pressed Start .

The portal did not open.

It exploded.

A white light blinded him, the ground disappeared beneath his sneakers, and the last sound he heard was the crackle of his laptop shattering into pieces.

When he breathed again, the air tasted different. Like damp pine, like smoke that was already somewhat metallic, like old blood.

He was no longer in the basement.

She lay in a stone circle covered in runes, in the middle of a gigantic forest. The trees were the size of buildings and had violet leaves. Above, two moons watched her.

And three meters away from (TN), a goblin in armor made of pot lids stared at her. He had a spear. And he was grinning with many teeth.

"A person" "That thing spat out a person. The boss is going to be happy."

Most of the characters will be rough, but others will be brave and good company for a team.
