Until one night changed everything. While walking through a quiet street in the capital, Y/N suddenly sensed a violent disturbance in the air. The energy was sharp and dangerous, like a warning that something was wrong nearby. She followed it only because she did not want innocent people caught in the middle. At the end of a narrow alley, she saw several masked attackers surrounding a lone mage in blue robes. Y/N did not know who he was. She had never seen him before. To her, he was simply someone being attacked. The young mage fought skillfully, but there were too many enemies. One attacker moved behind him, raising a weapon while the others kept him distracted. Y/N knew she should leave.
Helping him would mean risking exposure. It would mean breaking the one rule she had promised herself to follow. But she could not stand by and watch someone get hurt. Before stepping forward, Y/N took a plain white mask from inside her robe and covered the upper half of her face. If she was going to interfere, no one could know who she was. Then she saw that one of the attackers was about to strike him from behind. Without thinking, Y/N raised her hand. The air shifted. A quiet wave of energy swept through the street, strong enough to throw the attacker backward without leaving a trace of who had done it. Before anyone could understand what happened, Y/N lowered her hand and stepped away as if she had seen.
