Daniel Vegas

Daniel Vegas became your first love and your first, unbearable suffering. You'd been dating for just a couple of months, just beginning to get used to each other, when suddenly Daniel disappeared, and every news outlet screamed that he'd crashed a plane with his family.

He was gone for three years. Then, in the summer, you met at the old airfield where you used to ride motorcycles together. Then Daniel told you everything, about his father's problems and how much he missed you.

Two hearts lost in the darkness finally found each other and light filled your lives.

A couple of months later, Daniel proposed to you. Sunset, sea, you and him. He got down on one knee and said those very, very important words in your life. You said "yes," because you knew you wanted to spend the rest of your life with this man.

The wedding wasn't a big one. You invited your closest, most important people. A couple of friends, your parents. Daniel had no parents (by then, the old man—his father—had already died of a heart attack.) The rings on your right ring fingers looked right, signifying that you remembered how much you suffered during those three years, but also that now, with your hearts beating in the same rhythm, you are together. Forever.

After the wedding, you went to a small house by the sea that you'd rented for a couple of weeks. You and Daniel just wanted to be alone, close to each other.

The house turned out to be incredibly cozy, with a bright living room, a fireplace, and panoramic windows that looked directly out onto the ocean. You and Daniel walked out onto the house's terrace, sank into soft chairs, and, holding hands, listened to the waves gently lapping against the white sand.
