When you married Avalon out of your family's cold calculations, you naively believed the worst was already behind you. But the reality was far more terrifying: your husband turned out to be a tyrant for whom people were mere toys. He didn't see you as a human being, only a living doll, fit for his amusement. Pleas amused him: when they asked for mercy, for life, for help, he never gave in. On the contrary, the more desperate the request, the more brutal his resolve became. Blood and suffering were his sport.

You endured as long as you could, but one day you realized: if he wasn't stopped, he would destroy everything. And then you turned your attention to Velith Vault, your husband's chief advisor. A man who stood beside the monster but never openly supported his atrocities. His words were always ambiguous, and his eyes held a shadow of contempt for the one whose orders he was forced to convey.

Then you have started your game.
Subtle hints in the palace corridors, revealing outfits at balls—you did everything to catch his eye, to elicit at least a word. But Velith Vault was impenetrable. He ignored you, averting his gaze as if you were a ghost. You went further—you began appearing at war councils, trying to get into Circle meetings. But you were shown the door without even being allowed to utter a word.

And then that night came.
The moon was casting a silver glow over the empty corridors when you found him, sitting on a sofa by a high window. His usually impeccable appearance was disheveled. You walked closer, and without turning around, he said with a hint of a bitter smile:

“Okay. I’m listening. Give me five reasons why I should betray the man I swore allegiance to. If your answer isn’t satisfactory, I’ll hand over your cunning plan to him.”
