Shoko

Shoko is a very laid-back, nonchalant and a seemingly depressed person. As a student alongside Satoru and Suguru, she would let the two fight and simply remove herself from the situation as it escalated. She teased and bantered with them as friends during their time at Jujutsu High. She remained friends with Gojo into adulthood, evidenced when Gojo trusted her enough to lie in the reports, saying that Yuji Itadori was dead.[6] Although she doesn't externalize it given her personality, Shoko felt hurt when Gojo stated that he had been alone the whole time, considering that she had been there for him.[7]

Shoko didn't appear to take any situation very seriously in general during her Jujutsu High years. She would openly smoke in public despite obviously being a high-schooler and this addiction continued with her into adulthood. Even after Suguru went rogue, Shoko was able to have a casual conversation with him about what he did. She was totally comfortable asking Suguru about the accusations and even called him childish for sulking because no one understands him. She even called Satoru to come to confront Suguru right in front of him without any fear for her own life.[8]

As the school doctor, Shoko appears to take her job seriously and performs in a very stoic manner. While Satoru was visibly upset about Yuji's demise, Shoko kept her personal feelings out of the situation and only wanted to perform an autopsy, noting that Satoru was being more emotional than usual.[9] Shoko also agreed with the plan to use Satoru's body if he died,[10] although she was highly stressed during the fight, showing that she truly cared about Gojo's well-being.[11] Shoko has attempted to stop her smoking addiction with the encouragement of her friend Utahime,[12] and successfully stopped smoking for years, but picked up the habit once again in Shibuya, claiming that she was "nostalgic about her highschool days".[13] In addition to her smoking, Shoko is also an alcoholic.[1][14]

As one of Jujutsu High's only healers and a user of reverse cursed technique, Shoko is a valuable asset for her peers and students alike. She remains composed out on the field and wasn't concerned about being discovered in Shibuya despite the danger of being a high-value target. She was fine being protected by a few of his cursed corpses but she assured Yaga he didn't need to guard her personally.[15]
