Hizashi Yamada (Present mic)

Present Mic maintains the eccentric personality of a radio announcer, mixing Japanese and English when he speaks. He often strikes a pose while talking and maintains a certain level of excitement or volume, regardless of the situation. His demeanor led Kyoka Jiro to mistake him for a mere announcer rather than a true Hero.

Present Mic screaming Present Mic's loud personality prevents him from keeping quiet. When performing in front of a crowd, Presente Mic often tries to bring his audience down to his level by engaging them (sometimes referring to them as his 'listeners,' even while on stage). He will continue to perform this way regardless of the crowd's reaction.

Present Mic can't stand silence and will feel the need to shout when he's in a quiet space or a boring situation. One of Present Mic's greatest fears is insects, and he has a strong aversion to them, to the point of fainting when there are too many in his immediate vicinity. He admits that he prefers urban areas to forests.

Present Mic believes there is a traitor. Present Mic gets serious when he thinks there's a traitor in UA Present Mic has a sadistic side when he gets angry or is fighting. When some reporters invaded UA, he suggested attacking them to make them leave, but was stopped by Shota Aizawa because such a situation could have resulted in widespread negative publicity. In the Paranormal Liberation War, he had no qualms about hitting and yelling at an old man.

He is also highly sociable, since from his early years at UA he was seen surrounded by his close friends⁚ Oboro Shirakumo, Nemuri Kayama and Shota, becoming the closest friend of the latter despite their great differences and being the closest confidants of each other and they are almost always seen together.

Even now, he retains this trait, as he gets along quite well with the other teachers and is almost never seen alone. Present Mic enjoys jokes and can be seen teasing his coworkers or eavesdropping on conversations, such as when All Might mentioned not getting along well with his old sidekick. The light novels reveal that he behaves similarly with Shota, constantly bothering him, giving him embarrassing nicknames, yelling in Shota's ear while he's trying to take a nap, and dragging him into conversations he doesn't want to participate in, but never with malicious intent. Although he tends to be a jovial individual, Present Mic is capable of expressing great anger and pain, as demonstrated by his reaction upon discovering that Kurogiri is a Nomu created from the corpse of his deceased friend Oboro. He even cries and makes the responsible villain, Kyudai Garaki, suffer as much as possible, both for what he did to Oboro and for making one of his friends cry.

Hizashi is a tall (1.85m) and slender man with long, blond hair, which he wears spiked up in a large tuft at the back of his head, and a small mustache. He has rectangular eyes with concentric greenish-yellow pupils (red in the manga) and is almost always seen with a wide smile on his face, and his nostrils have never been seen.

His Hero Costume consists of a black jacket with a very high, turned-up collar, complete with studs, and matching black pants and knee-high boots. He has tan shoulder pads, a red belt and elbow pads, all studded, and black fingerless gloves. His neck is always obscured by a directional speaker he uses with his Quirk. He always wears a pair of headphones with the word "HAGE" written on the headband and a pair of orange-tinted glasses.

His Hero Costume as a second-year student is similar to his current one, though it lacked the shoulder pads and directional speaker. Hizashi wore megaphones attached to his wrists, which he used to amplify the sound of his Quirk. These megaphones were later replaced by his current directional speaker.

General Abilities: Present Mic is a Pro Hero and teacher at U.A. High School, making him a highly capable Hero. Present Mic has great control over his Quirk, being able to easily control the volume of his speech. Since his time at U.A., Hizashi was a top student in his year, as his teachers believed he would have no trouble securing an agency for his internship. Because his Quirk has implications for both combat and entertainment, they could easily see him taking on more than one profession in the future. [3] Present Mic's fighting style is primarily long-range, attacking his opponents by irritating their ears while maintaining a safe distance.

During the final exams, Present Mic nearly defeated Kyoka Jiro and Koji Koda, leaving Kyoka unable to attack him with her sonic waves and protecting the escape door so they couldn't leave the area. In the Paranormal Liberation War, he enlisted in the hospital raid team where he and other Pro Heroes fought against the powerful High-End Nomu.[4] Present Mic's screams were powerful enough to destroy the capsule containing the medically deceased Tomura Shigaraki, sending both the villain and the doctor, who was standing a short distance away, flying.

Immense strength: While Present Mic does not specialize in hand-to-hand combat, he displays good physical ability during the Paranormal Liberation War, as he delivered a powerful hook to Doctor Kyudai Garaki to incapacitate him and carried him out of the hospital throughout the war until he was arrested by the Police Force. Bilingualism: Present Mic can speak both Japanese and English very fluently, a language that is quite difficult to learn in many countries, and it is the subject he teaches at UA Sharp Intellect: Despite appearances, Present Mic is quite intelligent and analytical, boasting an Intelligence stat of 5/5 in the Official Character Book, surpassing even other strategy-focused teachers like Shota Aizawa. Present Mic was the first teacher to point out the possibility of a traitor at UA Academy, even stating his reasons for believing so (ultimately proving correct). Present Mic's Quirk allows him to defeat multiple opponents from a distance. Voice (ヴォイス Voisu?): Present Mic's Quirk allows him to increase the volume of his voice, granting him the ability to create high-pitched sounds. The sound of Present Mic's Quirk is loud enough to cause people's ears to bleed, and its noise is capable of annoying and distracting enemies, as well as blocking out other sounds.

The only known weakness of this Gift is that loud sounds cannot travel through the earth, making his Gift ineffective against any subterranean enemy.

Super moves Loud Voice (ラウドヴォイス Raudovoisu ?): Present Mic raises his voice to extreme levels and releases a shockwave strong enough to shatter glass and blow anything in its path.[7] DJ Punch (Dディー・Jジェイパンチ Dī Jei Panchi ?): Present Mic throws a strong hook with his right fist straight to his opponent's face.

Directional Speaker System: Present Mic has a device around its neck that allows it to point its amplified voice in a specific direction.
