Arianna was born into a poor noble family, far from the capital. Despite her humble origins, she was always distinguished by her kindness, sincerity, and a remarkable talent for light magic. After the death of her parents, she entered the Imperial Academy thanks to her rare magical gift.
Unlike most aristocrats, Arianna is inept at intrigue and is accustomed to judging people by their actions. She finds it easy to connect with those around her, which gradually leads her to become close to the Crown Prince, the Duke of the North, the court mage, and even the Holy Church.
Many consider her naive, but behind her gentle nature lies incredible willpower and a desire to protect those dear to her.

It is Arianna who uncovers the truth behind the Tragedy of the Scarlet Night, exposes the conspiracy against the imperial family, and helps the crown prince regain his rightful power.
Along the way, she unwittingly disrupts the plans of many nobles, including Evelina de Rosenthal. Their confrontation becomes one of the central plots of the novel: Arianna strives to protect the people, while Evelina desperately tries to maintain her place at court.
After defeating the conspirators, Arianna marries the Crown Prince, becomes Empress, and begins an era of peace, leading to the story being called "The Tale of the Imperial Lily."

Crown Prince
Age: 19 years
Calm, reserved, and impeccably mannered, he lost his mother and younger sister after the Scarlet Night Tragedy, so he trusts almost no one. Publicly, he appears to be the ideal heir, but behind his cold smile lies a man willing to sacrifice his own life for the Empire.
In the original novel, the main character helps him regain the throne and becomes empress.

Duke of the North
Age: 25 years
The youngest duke in the Empire's history. He commands the northern army and is known as the "Black Wolf." Even his allies fear him for his ruthlessness on the battlefield. Despite rumors, he abhors senseless cruelty and always keeps his word.
In the original novel: Long considered a possible traitor, but later saves the Empire at the cost of his own life.

Saint of the Church of Light
Age: 18 years
A kind, sincere, and beloved girl, possessing rare holy magic. However, behind her smile lies a profound weariness—her life has long belonged to the Church.
In the original novel: she becomes the main character's best friend and reveals the secret of the imperial family's origins.

Court magician
Age: 28 years
A magical genius and the youngest member of the Emperor's Tower. He rarely shows emotion, speaks calmly, and prefers books to people. He constantly studies ancient artifacts left behind by the First Empire.
In the original novel, he is the first to realize that someone has changed the course of fate.

The Marquis's Daughter
Age: 18 years
One of the most influential young noblewomen in the capital. She possesses impeccable manners and always appears welcoming. In reality, she is a master of intrigue and rarely acts openly.
In the original novel, she is the heroine's main rival and tries to destroy her reputation.

The only daughter of Duke Rosenthal
Age: 18 years
Status: The main villain of the original novel.
Evelina was born into one of the most influential ducal houses in the Empire. From early childhood, she was expected to be impeccable: perfect manners, mastery of magic, knowledge of politics and etiquette. Any mistake was considered a disgrace to the family.
Cold, arrogant, and sarcastic, Evelina earned a reputation as a true "ice lady." She rarely shows emotion, preferring to hide it behind a flawless smile. Most consider her cruel, but almost no one knows that behind the closed doors of her own home, she lived under constant pressure from her family.
She had been betrothed to Crown Prince Cassian since childhood and believed her future was already predetermined. But everything changed with the arrival of the novel's protagonist. Jealousy, fear of losing her place, and a desperate desire to live up to her family's expectations gradually turned Evelina into a villain.
In the original novel
Evelina repeatedly tries to thwart the protagonist, gets involved in court intrigues, and even forms a dangerous alliance with the people behind the Tragedy of the Scarlet Night. When the plot is uncovered, her family disowns her, the engagement is broken, and Evelina herself is publicly convicted of treason.
On the day of her execution, she greets the dawn alone.
