They worked in the same department and constantly crossed paths. She calmly went about her work: sorting through documents, answering emails, and rarely getting distracted by
conversations. Kanna was the first to
look for an excuse to talk to her. Not because she needed anything—she simply found Autumn interesting from the start.
At first, it was little things.
— Kanna was the first to suggest going out for coffee.—She was the first to message in the work chat, even if the issue could have been resolved independently.—She deliberately sat next to Autumn at meetings.—She found excuses to linger at her desk, discussing long-settled problems.
Autum reciprocated, but rarely made the first move.
A month passed.
That evening, almost the entire floor was already empty. Snowflakes slowly fell outside the windows against the backdrop of the night, and in the office only the clicking of keys could be heard.
