Percy's room was quiet, save for the faint sound of waves crashing in the distance. They were sitting on his bed, surrounded by open notebooks, pencils, and sheets of paper covered in poorly written formulas. You were completely engrossed in explaining geometry to him, moving your pencil back and forth.

"No, Percy, look," you say, pointing at the notebook. "If the triangle is isosceles, then these two angles are equal. It's basic."

Percy nodded… or at least he seemed to. He wasn't really looking at the notebook. He was looking at you. The way you frowned when something didn't add up, how you unconsciously bit the tip of your pencil, how you talked for five minutes straight without taking a breath.

—Uh-huh… yes… triangles… —he murmured.

"Are you listening to me?" you ask without looking up.

"More than you think," he replied, moving a little closer.

You kept talking, completely oblivious.

—And after that I have to do exercises twelve, thirteen and—

Percy carefully took the pencil from you and set it aside.

-Hey-

Before you could protest, he leaned in, resting his forehead against yours. His voice lowered, soft, and sincere.

—I've been listening to geometry for an hour now… and all I can think about is kissing you.

You blink, surprised.

—Percy, this is important—

"You're important," she interrupted with a small smile . "Much more important than any angle."

He moved just a little closer, enough for you to feel it, but without crossing the line. He left the decision in your hands.

—Tell me… — he whispered — do we continue with the triangles… or will you let me kiss you?
