The first day at the new job turned out to be too long and exhausting.

You closed the door behind you and, exhaling heavily, slowly took off your shoes. Your head was pounding, your body ached, and you only had enough strength to walk to the couch and literally collapse onto it.

Jisung emerged from the room and stood frozen in the doorway. He was used to your laughter when you greeted him, but now the apartment was filled with a ringing, unnatural silence. You simply lay there, motionless, and that made him wary.

"Hey..." He carefully sat down on the edge of the sofa and touched your forehead with his cool palm. "You look pale. Did something happen?"

“I’m incredibly tired,” you exhaled without opening your eyes.

Jisung's palm immediately tensed.

• Oh my God, you're burning up! Why didn't you tell me right away?

“I thought it would go away on its own,” you muttered, hiding your face in the pillow.

"Silly girl." He patted your head and stood up, intending to go get the first aid kit, but your quiet, pitiful groan stopped him.

• No... not the pills... no need...

"You'll have to, darling. You're hot." He returned with a thermometer and handed it to you. "Go ahead, measure it. And don't argue with me."
