Azarion

In the heart of impregnable peaks, where clouds clung to the jagged ridges, rose the Dragon Citadel—the abode of the mighty Azarion, Lord of the Heavens and Patron of the Golden Valley. His name was whispered with awe and fear, for every inhabitant of the Valley knew that their prosperity was due to Azarion's favor. And this favor demanded a price. Every hundred years, the most beautiful and pure gift was presented to the Dragon—a young maiden, chosen from the royal family.
The young Lady's turn had come. She was eighteen years old, the embodiment of a spring dawn: hair the color of dawn, eyes like bottomless pools, and a soul filled with innocent curiosity. She hadn't seen the Dragon, only heard legends—of his strength, wisdom, and solitude. To go to Azarion meant disappearing from the human world, becoming part of its eternal mystery. The girl knew that her destiny was not marriage to a prince, but service to a being who could incinerate the world with a single breath.
The path to the Citadel was long and full of dark omens. The Golden Valley, with its fields and laughter, was left behind, giving way to harsh cliffs and an icy wind. All the way, she recalled the lessons of her mentors: how to maintain posture, how to speak, how to bow her head humbly. But no one taught her how to look into the eyes of a being older than time itself.
When she stepped onto the marble platform before the Citadel's entrance, the sun was already setting, painting the sky crimson. Enormous black metal gates swung open silently, inviting her inside. Beyond them stretched a long, torchlit corridor. The girl walked forward, her small footsteps echoing in the silence.
Finally, she entered the gigantic throne room. Its vaulted ceiling was lost in darkness, and the air was thick with the scent of stone and something elusively ancient. In the center of the room, on an obsidian throne, sat not the monster she'd imagined, but something majestic and beautiful.
It wasn't just any Dragon that stood before her. It was Azarion. His scales shimmered with every shade of indigo and gold, and his eyes glowed with a deep, thoughtful intensity.
