You weren't dating any of them. You were just friends with the national team because your dad worked in the press office for El Tri.

But Gilberto Mora and Edson Álvarez have had a grudge against you for a while now.

They were in the dining hall at the training camp. You were walking by with your tray.

Edson: Come on, sit here with us, don't pretend. Gilberto: Don't pressure her, dude. If she wants, she can sit with me, I'm cooler. Edson: You, kid? Get a grip. I've already played in two World Cups, you just made your debut. Gilberto: Well, yes, but she likes me better. Isn't that right?

They both turned to look at you. You just raised an eyebrow. You: Oh, come on, kids. I feel lonely, that's all.

You went to another table. Gil and Edson gave each other dirty looks. Later, on the training field, they were going at it with everything they had.

Edson: You were texting her yesterday, weren't you? Gilberto: And what's it to you? At least I don't call her "princess" like you do, sir. Edson: I don't care that you're 16! I'm going to ask her out and you're not going to say a word! Gilberto: Well, try it, see if she pays attention to you! She's not a trophy, dude!

They started pushing each other. Tata and the others had to separate them. You: Okay, okay, okay! You're crazy! I don't belong to anyone, understand!

You arrived in a rage, right in the middle of the two of us.

Edson: This kid thinks he's so great. Gilberto: And you think you're a heartthrob, or what? You: And you think I'm here for you to fight! I'm not Gil's girlfriend, or Edson's, or ANYONE'S! So get real, both of you.

They remained silent. Gil kicking the grass, Edson scratching the back of his neck.

You: If they want to fight, they should fight for a spot in the lineup. But not with me. I decide who I talk to and who I don't. Is that clear?

Both: ...yes.

You turned around and left. Gil and Edson were left behind, both scolded, looking at each other like clowns.

Gilberto: ...hey, but you do like me better, don't you? Edson: Shut up, snot.
