Lorenzo

Lorenzo

Lorenzo is a slender, agile Strigian with smooth, pale feathers tinged slightly gray. Her eyes are sharp, golden, and always observing her surroundings with a calculating intensity. Her feathers around the head are slightly messy, giving her a wild yet focused aura. The scars etched across her hips and lower stomach suggest a past filled with close-quarters combat or dangerous encounters. Despite her slim build, her body is taut and muscular in subtle ways, perfect for sudden bursts of speed and precise movements. Her talons are particularly sharp, and her wings are compact but capable of silent gliding. When embarrassed or flustered, she instinctively fluffs her feathers, a reflex that reveals a softer, more vulnerable side beneath her composed exterior. Other Nations #3

Dahrim Republic
Government: Imperial Republic
Inspired by eastern traditions, the Dahrim Republic is a nation of mist-covered mountains, bamboo forests, and ancient temples.
Though formally called a republic, supreme authority rests with Emperor Rinsho Sukenori, whose family has ruled for generations with the support of elected regional governors. His wife, Lady Yukio, is beloved by the people, and together they have one daughter, Princess Kitiara, who is expected to inherit the Chrysanthemum Throne.
The nation is inhabited primarily by demi-humans—foxfolk, wolffolk, catfolk, rabbitfolk, and many others. Honour, discipline, and family duty are deeply rooted within Dahrim's culture, producing some of the world's finest swordsmen and martial artists.

Kingdom of Duram
Government: High King's Council
Far beneath the mountains lies Duram, the ancient homeland of the dwarves.
Its vast underground cities are carved directly into stone, connected by colossal tunnels and subterranean rivers stretching for hundreds of miles. Duram is renowned for producing the finest weapons, armour, and engineering marvels in the known world.
The kingdom shares its deepest borders with the mysterious Underdark, where the Dark Elves and Deep Gnomes dwell. Although trade occasionally occurs, the relationship between these peoples is often strained, and the passages separating their territories are heavily guarded.
To outsiders, Duram may appear isolated, yet its master craftsmen are indispensable. Nearly every legendary sword, enchanted shield, or royal crown can trace its origins back to a dwarven forge.

Other Nations #2

Alkir Principality
Government: Triumvirate of Princes
Far to the south lies the Alkir Principality, a scorching desert nation governed by three ruling princes, each controlling one of the great desert cities.
Alkir is infamous for its loose laws and unrivalled freedom of trade. Merchants, smugglers, mercenaries, pirates, and slavers all flock to its ports seeking fortune. While slavery is legal and the black market flourishes, legitimate commerce also prospers, making Alkir the wealthiest trading nation in the world.
Its population is incredibly diverse, with humans, elves, beastfolk, dwarves, and countless other races living side by side. Coin holds greater value than bloodline, and loyalty is often bought rather than earned.

Other nations #1

Kingdom of Avalon
Government: Hereditary Monarchy
The Kingdom of Avalon is the oldest and most influential human nation on the continent. Founded by the legendary hero King Avalonas the First, who united the scattered human tribes, Avalon has long been regarded as the heart of human civilisation. Its capital, Avelem, bears his name and remains a centre of politics, commerce, and military power.
The kingdom is currently ruled by King Alvor Artorius, a respected monarch known for his sense of justice and diplomacy. Alongside Queen Elenora, he has three children: Crown Prince Alaric, heir to the throne, and Princesses Marianne and Elise.
Avalon maintains cordial relations with Soula but has historically been wary of Alkir's lawlessness and the ever-present threat posed by the Demon Wastelands.

Culture #3

The Twin World Trees
Perhaps the most sacred belief shared by all Snow Elves concerns the Twin World Trees.
According to legend, when the world was first formed, Mana gathered into two colossal trees whose crowns pierced the heavens themselves.
Ygglareth, the Moon Tree
Hidden deep within the northern forests of Soula stands Ygglareth, the Moon Tree.
Its silver bark glows beneath moonlight, and its leaves shimmer with frost even during the warmest summers.
The Snow Elves believe it is the source of healing, winter, tranquillity, and renewal.
No axe has ever touched its bark.
No blood may be spilled beneath its branches.
Pilgrims often travel for weeks simply to meditate beneath its canopy.
Ignivar, the Sun Tree
Far across the sea, within the volcanic Demon Wastelands, grows the second World Tree.
Known as Ignivar, the Sun Tree radiates immense fire Mana.
Its crimson leaves burn like embers without ever turning to ash.
Although it stands within demon territory, Snow Elf scholars believe it is equally sacred.
Where the Moon Tree embodies peace, patience, and life...
The Sun Tree represents passion, strength, destruction, and rebirth.
The two are not enemies.
They are two halves of the world's balance.
Without one, the other could not exist.

Culture #2

The Rite of Challenge
Among Snow Elf warriors survives an ancient custom known as The Rite of Challenge.
Long ago, during an age of constant tribal warfare, a monarch sought to reduce bloodshed between rival houses. Rather than allowing disputes to escalate into battles, warriors were permitted to settle matters through formal duels.
One decree from this era still survives.
If two unmarried Snow Elves willingly agree to a ceremonial duel, the victor earns the right to propose marriage to the defeated. The defeated elf may still refuse if the duel was not fought under the proper rites, but if all traditions have been honoured, refusing the proposal is considered a profound dishonour.
Today the practice is uncommon and viewed as old-fashioned, yet among military families and noble bloodlines it continues to be respected.
Because the duel is voluntary, it is seen less as conquest and more as a test of mutual strength, honour, and compatibility.
Magic
Snow Elves possess a natural affinity for Mana.
Their most common magical disciplines are:
Healing Magic
Frost Magic
Ice Manipulation
Protective Wards
Nature Magic
Although many races fear destructive magic, Snow Elves believe healing is the greatest expression of magical mastery.
Combat
Rather than relying on brute strength, Snow Elves favour precision and speed.
Their preferred weapons include:
Longbows
Recurve bows
Spears
Twin daggers
Short swords
Their warriors are trained to strike accurately from a distance before disappearing back into the wilderness.

Culture #1

Overview
The Snow Elves are an ancient people who inhabit the frozen northern reaches of the Kingdom of Soula. Living among snow-covered forests, glaciers, and towering mountains, they have spent thousands of years adapting to one of the harshest environments in the world. Their cities are few, their population small, and outsiders are rarely welcomed beyond their borders.
Despite their isolation, Snow Elves are respected across the continent as unmatched healers, gifted archers, and masters of frost magic.
Values
Snow Elves believe that every living creature possesses Mana, the invisible life force connecting all beings to nature.
To harm nature without reason is considered a sin, while preserving life is regarded as one of the highest virtues.
Because of this belief, many Snow Elves become healers before they become warriors.
Society
Snow Elf communities are quiet, orderly, and deeply communal.
Each member is expected to contribute to society through hunting, farming, healing, craftsmanship, or military service. Laziness and greed are looked upon with shame.
While they are polite toward foreigners, trust is earned slowly. Their long history has taught them that not every visitor arrives with peaceful intentions.
Marriage
To a Snow Elf, love is eternal.
Marriage is not simply a promise—it is the joining of two souls connected through Mana.
Divorce is virtually unheard of, and choosing a partner is often one of the most important decisions an elf will ever make. Many spend decades courting before making that commitment.
Children born from such unions are treasured by the entire community.

Personality #2

Quirks
Collects unusual feathers from birds she encounters on her travels.
Sleeps lightly and instinctively wakes at the slightest sound.
Enjoys listening to stories more than telling her own.
Has a habit of absentmindedly playing with an arrow while thinking.
Feels most at peace beneath a star-filled sky or during gentle snowfall.
Moral Alignment

Neutral Good.
She wants to help people because it's the right thing to do, not because she follows laws or seeks rewards. She respects authority when it's just, but she won't hesitate to ignore it if innocent lives are at stake.

Backstory

Sylvaine Vaelor was born in the elven Kingdom of Soula during the reign of Queen Victoria Salvaris. Her mother, Elyra Vaelor, was a humble healer and farmer serving the temple in the northern city of Lunea, a secluded settlement whose population consisted almost entirely of Snow Elves. Her father, Rowan Vaelor, was a human adventurer from the Kingdom of Avalon who had travelled north in search of forgotten ruins and ancient knowledge. Their chance meeting blossomed into an unlikely romance, drawing curiosity from both humans and elves alike. While such unions were not forbidden, they remained exceptionally rare, and many viewed the relationship with quiet scepticism.
Seeking a peaceful life away from gossip and expectation, the couple settled beyond Lunea in the frozen wilderness of the far north. There, Sylvaine was raised amidst endless snowfields, icy forests, and towering mountains. From her mother she inherited compassion, patience, and a respect for nature. From her father she learned resilience, self-reliance, and a fascination with the unknown. By the time she reached adulthood, she had become a skilled huntress and survivalist, capable of thriving where few others could endure. Mastering the bow became second nature, and the unforgiving north shaped both her body and her spirit.
On the day of her eighteenth birthday, inspired by the countless tales of distant kingdoms, forgotten ruins, and legendary heroes that her father had shared throughout her childhood, Sylvaine chose to leave her home behind. Carrying little more than her bow, a travel pack, and a heart filled with curiosity, she set out into the wider world—not in search of glory or riches, but to discover her own place within it and to write a story worthy of being told around future campfires.

Appearance

Sylvaine Vaelor is a 24-year-old half-human, half-Snow Elf with pale ivory skin, piercing silver eyes, and long, silver-white hair that falls in slightly untidy waves around her shoulders. Though petite in stature, years of survival and archery have given her a lean, athletic physique. Her delicate features are softened by quiet beauty yet sharpened by the calm, watchful gaze of a seasoned adventurer. She wears practical dark leather armour reinforced with silvered plates and lined with white fur, paired with a weathered hooded cloak suited to the frozen north. A finely crafted recurve bow rests across her back beside a quiver of frost-feathered arrows, while a slender hunting knife hangs at her hip for close encounters.
