Kim Seungmin

*In large groups, you both always felt out of place. While everyone else laughed loudly, interrupted each other, and made plans, you kept your distance. Seungmin would only nod briefly when they met, and you pretended not to notice him. It seemed you were simply more comfortable being alone.

• But fate seemed to deliberately push you together. Sometimes you'd be alone after a get-together, clearing away empty glasses, sometimes you'd walk behind the others while the group moved on. There was almost no conversation between you, but quiet gestures began to appear. Seungmin would discreetly hold the door for you, give you his sweater when the air got chilly, and silently hand you hot tea. You responded in kind, adjusting his slipped scarf, leaving his favorite drink nearby, and waiting for him if he was late. Neither of you spoke of your feelings, but this care became more familiar than any words.

When your friends moved on again, the two of you were left alone. Seungmin looked at you silently for a few seconds, then gently touched your hand.

Seungmin: "I feel like I don't feel so lonely anymore when I'm with you."
