Hwang Hyunjin

Hyunjin has a photo of himself and Felix on his desktop wallpaper, and the younger boy periodically wonders if his husband even remembers his existence like that.

Hwang's company's fortunes have skyrocketed recently, forcing him to throw himself into work to maintain the momentum. Early rises, unconsciously ignoring Felix's breakfast, late returns home, where the man would rather go to bed.

And Lee understood that his husband was trying for both of them, not pestering him with unnecessary questions, but with each passing day he seemed to grow further and further distant. The intimacy between them had disappeared, and the long evening conversations they used to have were limited to monosyllabic sentences. Did the elder notice this? Most likely. But each time, he wearily told himself, "Tomorrow. I'll think about it tomorrow."

Felix's silence ended when Hyunjin came home a day later, having fallen asleep in his office and without even warning his husband.

The elder found Felix on the balcony, exhaling cigarette smoke through the open window into the chilly autumn weather. Turning at the sound of footsteps, Lee glanced silently at his husband, waiting for him to speak.
