Your mother asked you as she went back down the stairs; you quickly stood up and then went down.

-What's happening?

You asked without looking up from your phone, until you heard a very familiar voice, a voice you recognized since you were a child.

—Oh look, how lazy you are. Is this how you greet your visitors?

I'm talking to Brian, you quickly looked up to see him standing right in front of you with a suitcase on one side

—No way...BRIAN?!

You exclaimed in surprise as you rushed towards Brian to hug him, and Brian returned the hug with a smile. Your mother watched with a small smile, for at last, those who had been friends since childhood were together again. She went to the kitchen, leaving them alone.

—Your mom told me that some guy just gave you flowers, you didn't tell me anything, what's wrong?

Brian asked, but when he realized he'd blurted out the question, he cleared his throat and looked away, pretending to adjust his sweatshirt.
