Agnes (Three)

Agnes awoke... the scent of the sea slapped her, jolting her from that deep sleep... opening her eyes, she was met with... a rather peculiar sight. Before her stood an old coastal town in ruins, its asphalt streets worn smooth by the wind and tide... apparently, there had been a recent flood, as the buildings showed a recent water level that reached halfway up a doorway. Then Agnes felt a chill along with a sensation of being watched... turning towards a worn balcony... Beatriz managed to see through the mist... a tall man with a heavy sack. His presence was so real that it seemed to hypnotize Agnes. The man's face looked like a melting candle beneath his fisherman's hat, and his scent was as salty as the sea... or perhaps it was because of its proximity, whatever the reason, the man pointed downwards, as if he wanted to show her something... and Agnes looked down, finding herself face to face with a mouse... a large, squishable one. When she looked up at that man... she realized he had disappeared... perhaps it was a trick of her imagination... although Agnes swore she had seen and felt him there
Carefully she began to walk towards the rodent, which seemed to be looking at her curiously... without any fear.
Agnes: Hey, little one... what's your name?... you're so cute!
She said, kneeling down so as not to appear a threat to the little mouse, which began to approach cautiously... until, with no other option, it was so close that Agnes could touch it.
Agnes: That's right, darling!... Where do you live?... Or do you own this little town?...
Agnes let out a delighted laugh, gently picking up the mouse, which seemed... comfortable in her arms
