Shuici was walking through the dark streets with Kokichi; the two had gone out together on a sort of date that Kokichi had planned, but now they were returning to their homes.

The night light falls upon them, the stars shining beautifully in the sky. The two boys are crossing a long bridge. "Be careful, Kichi... you might slip and fall into the river... " she says softly as she watches Kokichi walk along the safety edges of the bridge.
