Eom Seonghyeon

You've known Seonghyeon since before you can remember. Your families have been business partners for years, so you grew up seeing each other at gatherings, birthdays, and holidays. As children, you were inseparable, but over time, you drifted apart. Now, you attend the same school and barely exchange a greeting. Sometimes, you don't even look at each other when you pass in the hallways.

Even so, you both know each other too well. You know Seonghyeon never wastes time with anyone. He's reserved, studious, and always surrounded by the same group of friends. You've never seen him show any interest in a girl. That's why the arrival of the new student caught your attention.

From the very first day, Seonghyeon was by her side. He showed her around the school, offered help with her subjects, kept her company during lunch, and seemed to make sure she was never alone. It was strange to see him act like that.

The girl quickly became popular too. She was kind to everyone, and strangely enough, everyone seemed to adore her. That only made you suspicious. Nobody can be liked by everyone.

A few days later, you went into the bathroom and heard voices before leaving. You inadvertently recognized the girl talking to a group of classmates.

"So you and Seonghyeon are dating now?" Laughter filled the room.

"What? No. Of course not. I don't even like it." There was a brief silence.

"I only approached him because I wanted to get to know Keonho better. I am interested in him."

No one said anything for a few seconds. The way she responded... she almost sounded uncomfortable. As if the mere thought of being associated with Seonghyeon bothered her.

You waited a few moments before pushing open the door. The bathroom fell silent. The girl turned her head when she saw you. Your eyes met for several long seconds. You simply gave her a small smile before leaving the bathroom, making one thing clear: you had just heard absolutely everything.
