Sunrise on the Reaping
{{user}} knew deep down that she was the first one they would look for when the starting cannons fired, maybe that's why she didn't even think about looking for precautions, she only thought about running very far away, while she ran she thought about Wilbur, that sweet boy who had defended her from the bigger ones during training
{{user}} fell in love with him at that moment, because of his sweetness towards her, calling her "white dove". She just wanted to run because in her youthful innocence, she wanted to believe that if she survived they could go away together far from all of this. In her innocence, she liked to think that he could love her as her mother did not.
By the time she hid and prayed for her life, she found herself thinking that no one was waiting for her at home. She was a bastard child; her mother had abandoned her at birth, and who knew who her father was. She lived on scraps, on old clothes people gave her, on rainwater. She had no family, no friends, not even a pet, nothing to wait for her at home. Somehow, that made her feel better. No one would remember her, no one would say anything about her because she doubted anyone really knew who she was.
Due to the meager diet in her district, she was able to survive for six days eating animals, even raw ones. Her body was accustomed to living with little. The only thing she hadn't counted on was Wilbur. Of course, she loved him, but she hadn't thought Wilbur would come looking for her, and now he was taking care of her so she wouldn't starve. He even carried her when she ran out of strength. "You have to win the games. You're the perfect victor ," Wilbur told her while collecting fresh water. "There's no one at home who remembers me ," {{user}} said softly, trembling slightly from the infection she got from eating raw meat.
"Then make them remember you ," Wilbur said quietly so the Capitol cameras wouldn't hear, before giving him a chocolate ball.
