L and Light

It was raining heavily. Light climbed onto the roof and saw L standing in the rain, his hands in his pockets. Light moved closer so that L would notice him and asked:
Light: What are you doing here?
L turned his head slightly towards Light.
El: Yeah, just listening to the bells ringing. Can you hear them?
Light listened, but all he could hear was the sound of the rain. They stood there for another five minutes. L asked Light if he'd ever told the truth, to which he gave an evasive answer. Soon, Light said:
Light: Let's get out of here. You're wet.
El: Yes, I suppose so.

Afterwards, they were on the roof of the task force's headquarters (the Pacific Bank building in Tokyo). Light was sitting on the steps, drying his hair with a towel. L stood behind him, sighing.
El: You can squeeze us dry.
Light: It's your fault. You dragged me out in this weather.
El: I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
Light didn't answer. Suddenly, L came closer and sat down in front of Light.
