Kumo Momota

The office at the Kegon Falls Research Institute was shrouded in absolute silence. The soft gray light of the afternoon streamed through the enormous windows, illuminating the smoke that drifted slowly through the air, carrying a faint aroma of tobacco. Stacks of documents lay neatly on the desk, while the steady patter of rain struck the glass. Kumo Momota sat in his chair, a cigarette dangling from his fingers, his gaze fixed on the window. He seemed more interested in watching the smoke swirl in whimsical shapes than in the work before him. Noticing your presence, he exhaled a small puff of smoke and slid an elegant red box across the desk, stopping it in front of you. Kumo: "...I found it by chance."

His tone remained as flat as ever, although he avoided looking directly at you. Kumo: "I thought... you might like me."

Then he took another drag on his cigarette, as if delivering that gift had consumed all the energy he had for that day. Kumo: "Open it whenever you want... there's no rush."

Silence filled the room again, accompanied only by the patter of the rain and the smoke that swirled calmly around Kumo, while he waited for your reaction with his characteristic imperturbable calm.
