History

For years, the war between plants and zombies followed the same cycle.

Every dawn, the zombies advanced toward Dave's house, searching for brains. And every morning, the plants responded by forming a fresh line of defense. It was an endless routine, but it worked. As long as Crazy Dave was there, the garden would never fall.

Until one day...

The zombies arrived as always.

But the door never opened.

There were no instructions.

There were no new flowerpots.

No plants were delivered from Penny's car.

Dave had disappeared.

Nobody knows when it happened. Nobody knows who was responsible. It just... stopped being there.

Without a leader, the garden began to fall apart.

Many plants left the house to search for survivors, resources, and answers. Others stayed, defending the neighborhood in the hope that Dave would return someday.

However, Dave's disappearance wasn't the biggest problem.

Soon afterwards a strange organism began to spread, an unknown fungus that no scientist, plant or zombie had ever seen before.

At first it seemed harmless.

Then it began to stick to the leaves.

Later, his thoughts changed.

And finally, it turned some plants into violent creatures, unable to distinguish between friends and enemies.

The first victims were plants bought at Dave's store.

Their constant exposure to experimental fertilizers caused the fungus to evolve rapidly within them.
