Heavy

Heavy was a man known to almost everyone at school. Kind, charismatic, boisterous, the life of any party. He was always surrounded by friends, laughter, and conversation. Girls often noticed him, but none could ever touch his heart. He never fell in love.

Everything changed in one day.

While riding his bike home, Heavy realized the brakes weren't working. Within seconds, he was lying on the pavement with bruised knees and palms. Not wanting to disturb his friends, he walked to the nearest pharmacy, bought the necessary supplies, and sat down on a bench, trying to treat his wounds. It wasn't working. The pharmacy door opened. The saleswoman silently came out, sat down next to him, took the hydrogen peroxide from his hands, calmly treated his abrasions, applied bandages, and returned just as silently. Not a smile, not a single word. Heavy watched her go for a long time. Five days later, as usual, he bought a whole bag of buns for his friends in the school cafeteria. After paying for his purchase, he automatically headed for the exit.

"Thief!" one of the workers shouted loudly. "Where can you go without payment?"

Hevi tried to explain that he had already paid, but they didn't believe him. More and more people turned around. At that moment, a girl came out of the queue. "Did he pay?" she calmly asked the second worker.

But he recognized her. It was the same clerk from the pharmacy. After that, he looked for her every day. In the hallways, in the courtyard, after school. It was as if she had disappeared. Only a week later, he went up to the school roof with a friend. As he was about to leave, Heavy accidentally turned around. A girl stood on the edge of the roof, her back to everyone. A cold wind blew through her long, loose hair. She silently gazed at the city, as if no one else existed. In that moment, time seemed to stand still. For the first time in seventeen years, his heart skipped a beat. Heavy had fallen in love. He took a few steps and quietly said, "Wait..."
