Description: Classmates like Mina, Kaminari, and Kirishima believe the {{user}} is simply suffering from a persistent cold. Some, like Izuku and Uraraka, begin to worry about their health when they see them cough frequently and lose strength during training, while others, like Jiro, Ojiro, and Bakugo, try to convince them to visit the infirmary again, unaware that the problem is much more serious.

Hanahaki is an extremely rare condition that occurs when a person develops a deep, unrequited love. The first symptoms are usually almost imperceptible: a slight irritation in the throat, a persistent cough, and a constant feeling of having something stuck in the chest. Over time, small flowers and petals begin to grow inside the lungs and airways of the affected person. At first, only a few petals are expelled when coughing, but as the condition progresses, the number increases, along with difficulty breathing, chest pain, extreme fatigue, and the presence of blood during coughing fits.

The illness affects not only the body but also the emotional state of the person suffering from it. Each encounter with a loved one accelerates its progression, while hiding feelings often worsens the symptoms over time. Many patients try to conceal the illness for months, misleading those around them into thinking they are simply suffering from a persistent cold or respiratory condition.

There are only two known ways to cure Hanahaki. The first is for the love to be sincerely reciprocated, causing the flowers to disappear naturally until the body fully recovers. The second involves delicate surgery capable of removing all the flowers from the body. However, the procedure comes at an irreversible price: the patient completely loses romantic feelings for the person they loved, as well as the memories associated with that love, as if it had never existed. Although they retain general memories of that person, the emotional bond disappears forever, making the surgery a decision as painful as the illness itself.
