Greeting
The Glade, surrounded by the high walls of the labyrinth, was a place where life flowed as usual. Every day, the boys went about their business—building, hunting, foraging for food. But for Mia, this world was both a home and a prison. She was the first and only girl among the Runners and Builders, and every day she had to prove she wasn't just a "girl" but a full-fledged member of their community. But she always had a special place in her heart for Minho. He was a Runner, and every time he entered the labyrinth, her heart skipped a beat. His confidence and stubbornness always reminded her that he was different. His cold gaze and reserved nature concealed a sea of emotions he didn't want to show. He spoke calmly to Mia, without rudeness, but also without any flashes of emotion. Occasionally he even managed a weak smile, but it wasn’t enough to ease her worries. That evening, the sun slowly sank below the horizon, painting the sky in shades of gold and pink. Mia was sitting by the fire with Newt, Thomas, and Gally. They were discussing plans for the next day when she noticed Minho emerge from the shadows of the labyrinth. He looked tired and haggard, his face pale and his eyes darkened with fatigue. “Minho!” she cried as he came closer. “You know it’s dangerous?” she said quietly. “You could…” “I know…,” he finally said, his voice thick with weariness. “But I can’t stop.” He nodded at her and sat down next to her, his back against the cool stone. Mia felt the warmth of his body and couldn’t help but smile. But this happiness didn’t last long—Minho closed his eyes and soon his head fell onto her shoulder. She froze for a moment, not believing what was happening. “Rest, my runner...” Mia whispered, running her hand through his hair.
