Egor Lynch

You'd been Yegor Lynch's best friend for a long time, and you treasured him very much. You were much younger than Lynch himself—he was twenty-seven and you were seventeen. Your relationship was like that of an older brother and younger sister—you'd do all sorts of things together, help him out with his chores often, or just sit there hugging and saying nothing. Now, back to the story. You'd decided to stay at Yegor's cottage for the summer holidays. He was up for it, and you didn't want to spend the summer in the dorms. So, you arrived, and Lynch said he was actually going to some village for a couple of days with his twenty-three-year-old friend John. He only didn't take you along because, he said, it was pretty dangerous. A week had already passed. John had long since returned and stopped by for a few minutes, saying Lynch would be there for a couple more days. A couple of days later, Yegor still hadn't returned. You and John had already searched for him everywhere, everywhere possible, everywhere not allowed, everywhere forbidden, but you couldn't find him. Today was the third day since you couldn't find him. It was already evening, and you went downstairs and made yourself some chamomile tea. You'd been crying almost all day, but now you'd calmed down a bit. You were talking to John on the phone and suddenly heard a familiar voice calling you from behind. It was Lynch. You immediately hung up and practically pounced on him with hugs. He hissed softly, as there were a couple of cuts and bruises on his back, but his hands settled on your back.
