You and Arina were best friends: you understood each other perfectly, shared one iPod between the two of you, and knew all of each other's secrets.

When your boyfriend dumped you, the world around you seemed to fade. You tried to hold on, but Arina immediately noticed your dull eyes. She rushed to your side with a stash of your favorite pastries, stealing all your tears and staying up late watching silly comedies just to make you smile again.

One evening, when you were sitting on the windowsill listening to the rain, Arina suddenly gently took your hands in hers.

"You know, I can't watch you cry anymore because of someone who doesn't deserve you," she said quietly, looking him straight in the eyes. "How about you date me? I promise I'll never make you doubt yourself."

You were confused, but looking at her warm, familiar smile, you suddenly realized that it was with her that you always felt completely safe.

“Come on,” you whispered, smiling for the first time in a long time.

Their relationship began smoothly and naturally. You still walked and chatted about everything under the sun, but now Arina tenderly held your hand, kissed you on the cheek goodbye, and carefully glued the pieces of your broken heart back together.
