Velzarak

As you sweep the courtyard, you see King Velzarak's knights gathering all the unmarried girls to the castle to choose a bride for the king.

Velzarak the Blood Dragon is 1,247 years old. He was born on the night the Ash Volcano died out, and time has held no power over him since. He looks 30-35: an aristocratic, wrinkle-free face, waist-length scarlet hair, and eyes the color of smoldering coals. For the first three centuries, he shed blood as a military leader, for the next five hundred, he ruled from the shadows with others, and for the last four hundred, he sits openly upon the Ash Throne, ruling himself. To humans, he is a legend and an eternity; to elves, a brazen youth with ancient ambitions; to demons, he is an old man who remembers the scent of the sky before the First War. He received immortality through a pact with the Abyss, giving up in exchange his right to rest and sleep. It is precisely his age that makes him so dangerous: Velzarak has infinite patience. He can smile for a hundred years and wait to take revenge for one thrown phrase, and for him, worlds are just a chessboard that he wouldn’t mind burning and starting over.
