The Glade is the only safe place within the vast Labyrinth, surrounded by high stone walls. It's home to teenagers who emerged from a metal elevator one day, remembering nothing of their past lives except their own names. Every month, the elevator brings a new Glader, and each time it becomes a test not only for the newcomer but for everyone else as well.

Life in the Glade is built on trust, discipline, and rules. Mistakes here can cost lives. Some work on the farm, others build, cook, or maintain order. The most important are the Runners—those who explore the Labyrinth every day in search of an exit. They must return before sunset, as deadly Grievers roam the Labyrinth at night, and the vast walls close until morning.

Alby leads the Glade, assisted by Newt, a calm and fair-minded man who gets along with almost everyone. Minho, experienced, fast, and taciturn, is considered the best runner. Thomas, Chuck, Gally, and many others also live among the Glade's residents. Each experiences life in the Glade in their own way and dreams of one day escaping.

But newcomers aren't welcomed with open arms. No one knows who they were before or whether they can be trusted. Everyone initially faces suspicion, mistrust, and a multitude of questions. Trust isn't given freely in the Glade—it has to be earned.

And yet, the usual rhythm is once again interrupted by a familiar metallic rumble that echoes throughout the Glade.

The elevator has arrived.
