Even as a second-year student, Gojo was already skilled at reinforcing his body with cursed energy. When Toji pierced his chest with a sword, Gojo reinforced his cursed energy so that the sword could not cause him any further damage, making the wound barely affect him during their first battle. As an adult, Gojo can empower himself with cursed energy to greatly increase his physical strength or fortify his body. Many of his feats of strength and speed mentioned earlier are due to his skill in enhancement techniques. He has also proven to be extremely adaptable to any enemy he has faced, knowing precisely how to counter their techniques and find ways to defeat them. This is best demonstrated during his fight against Jogo, Hanami, Choso, and Mahito, where he showed the ability to devise multiple battle strategies while fighting at breakneck speeds, protecting civilians, minimizing material damage, all while dodging and evading the attacks of the four adversaries. While fighting Sukuna, facing the relentless attacks of the Malevolent Sanctuary without his cursed technique, Satoru calmly developed an effective plan not only to survive but also to counterattack by healing his direct hit with the reverse cursed technique and using Simple Mastery to give himself a chance to recover his cursed technique. He also demonstrated great genius by changing the conditions of his domain to such an extent that he astonished Atsuya Kusakabe, an expert in barrier techniques. Satoru Gojo is known as the most powerful jujutsu sorcerer in modern jujutsu society. He earned this reputation in part due to the immense amount of cursed energy he possesses. Gojo's vast cursed energy, combined with his energy efficiency, allows him to expand his domain at least five times a day, while most special-grade sorcerers and cursed spirits can only use it once. Throughout his fight against Sukuna, Gojo used cursed energy to constantly bolster himself and activate his cursed techniques multiple times, never showing any signs of depleting his reserves.

Satoru is an extremely fast fighter, capable of moving faster than the eye can perceive. He is known as the fastest jujutsu sorcerer, surpassing even Naobito Zenin in speed. [23] He effortlessly outpaced Jogo, throwing almost imperceptible punches and kicks. Satoru was even able to react to and successfully dodge attacks from someone of Toji Fushiguro's caliber. [24] Satoru can also accurately eliminate a thousand humans transformed into a crowd in nearly five minutes. [25] He was able to move faster than Uraume, a powerful and experienced sorcerer who was able to react and might have killed Kenjaku had Sukuna not intervened. During Satoru's duel with Sukuna, he proved to be faster than the King of Curses, consistently outmatching him in close-quarters combat exchanges. His speed repeatedly forced Sukuna onto the defensive and caught him off guard on several occasions. Satoru even managed to keep up with Sukuna, Mahoraga, and the Fused Beast Agito simultaneously. Gojo has excellent control over his cursed energy thanks to the Six Eyes. He is able to expand his control for a fraction of a second, using the Reverse Cursed Technique, and simultaneously activating and controlling multiple Blues and Reds. Furthermore, Gojo has extraordinary cursed energy efficiency. When using cursed techniques, Gojo suffers almost no cursed energy loss. As a result, he expends less cursed energy compared to other sorcerers during combat, giving the impression that he never runs out of cursed energy. Currently, Satoru's power was feared by the jujutsu society's leadership, to the point that he could easily force them to cancel the executions of individuals like the dangerous Special Grade Sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu and Sukuna's vessel, Yuji Itadori. He claims that it would be easy for him to kill them all and overthrow the jujutsu society if he truly wanted to. Satoru even asserted that he could defeat Sukuna with his full power.

Kenjaku and his group of special-grade cursed spirits also distrusted Satoru's power and skill, and Kenjaku admitted that he couldn't defeat Gojo in a direct fight. Satoru was able to completely overpower and kill Jogo, the strongest of the group, and his mere presence forced Hanami to retreat, with Gojo nearly killing the special-grade cursed spirit with a single attack. When Kenjaku and his group finally devised a plan to confront him in combat, despite their preparations, Satoru was still able to easily repel and overpower their attacks, leaving them stunned by the magnitude of his abilities. He killed Hanami and was only defeated because Kenjaku used his past with Geto to distract him long enough for the Prison Kingdom to seal him away.

Even among special-grade sorcerers, Satoru is known as the strongest, possessing enormous amounts of cursed energy and a dangerously powerful technique. No one seems to match his skill level, except for the King of Curses, Sukuna.

As students, Satoru and Suguru were considered "the strongest," capable of quickly taking on experienced and powerful curse users. While he and Geto had previously been no match for the renowned Sorcerer Killer, Satoru's abilities increased tremendously to the point where he could put Toji Fushiguro on the defensive and ultimately kill him with his most powerful technique after understanding and perfecting its capabilities. As he continued to grow, he eclipsed Suguru's talent to the point that Suguru admitted Satoru was the strongest single-handedly. Suguru also claimed that Satoru had the ability to kill all of humanity single-handedly, something Suguru admitted was beyond his reach, and he didn't even attempt to defend himself when Satoru was about to kill him, though Satoru ultimately relented, unable to kill his best friend.

However, despite his arrogance and strength, Satoru is more human than he first appears. After defeating Toji, Satoru retrieved Riko's body with a sorrowful expression, demonstrating that while his recent arrogant victory temporarily clouded his feelings, he still grieved her death. He attempted to kill the members of the Star Religious Group who were applauding Riko's death before being stopped by Suguru Geto—whom he trusted as his moral compass at the time—preventing him from taking any action. [9] Furthermore, Satoru was visibly horrified and terrified to learn that Suguru, his "only" best friend, had become a murderous curse user. Satoru tried to reason with his friend, but ultimately understood and accepted that he had lost the only person he truly considered his equal. Having had to end Suguru's life before a greater calamity occurred, it was Satoru's trauma from the loss of his best friend that caused his final downfall in Shibuya. He was also devastated when Yuji seemingly died.

Satoru's dream and ultimate goal is to reform the world of jujutsu from the ground up through education. He seeks to train a new generation of sorcerers who, he hopes, will one day become his equals.

Satoru is a complex individual. He is usually relaxed and joking with his students, close colleagues, and friends. However, he is callous and cruel to the sorcerer executives, as evidenced by his blatant disrespect toward Principal Gakuganji and his enemies. Satoru is overconfident in his abilities and reputation as a powerful sorcerer, believing himself invincible. His opinion of others is often limited to judging their strength, and he is quite apathetic toward anyone he considers weak. Furthermore, heavily influenced by his desire for power, Gojo is very arrogant. He believes himself to be the strongest in the world, stating, during his fight against Toji Fushiguro, that "in all heaven and earth, [he] is the only one honored." This is evidenced during his task of protecting Riko Amanai, one of the few "weak" people for whom he actually came to feel compassion. However, his sorrow for her death was overridden by his great pride and arrogance after learning the Reverse Curse technique in his subsequent battle against Toji Fushiguro. [7]

During intense battles, Satoru sometimes descends into a manic fighting frenzy, fueled by his unwavering determination to win and the irrefutable proof that he is the strongest. His fighting style is characterized by aggressive and dominant attacks, as he showcases his mastered techniques to his opponents. Furthermore, in a crisis, he is capable of ruthlessness. He will prioritize the destruction of his enemies over saving innocent people when he believes sacrifice is unavoidable. However, this only applies to those killed by his opponent; he will not cause permanent harm or kill any innocent bystanders to gain an advantage.

Satoru is a very tall, slender, and muscular man in his early twenties, considered quite attractive, mainly due to his facial features. He has snow-white hair and six eyes of a vibrant blue. Satoru usually covers his eyes with a black bandage, which raises his hair and gives it a spikier appearance. When dressed casually, he wears sunglasses and lets his hair hang loose down to the nape of his neck.

While working, Satoru wears a dark blue zip-up jacket with a rather loose, high collar. He wears matching black slim-fit pants and black dress boots. Before using a simple eye bandage, Satoru used to wear bandages. Satoru likes to wear expensive clothes [6] and has several casual looks that he coordinates with his sunglasses. As a student at Tokyo Jujutsu High School, Satoru wore the standard school uniform with his sunglasses before adopting any improvised bandages.

During the Shinjuku Showdown arc, Gojo did not wear his blindfold, revealing his hair and eyes. He wore a tight black T-shirt, loose white sweatpants with a black belt woven around his waist, and black martial arts shoes, similar to Toji Fushiguro's outfit.
