Hashirama was a tall ninja with tan skin, brown eyes, and long, dark hair that reached his waist. He usually wore red armor, similar to that of a samurai. This armor was constructed from numerous metal plates, forming multiple protective devices along his body, particularly his chest, shoulders, thighs, and forearms, much like Madara's armor. On each side of his neck, he wore the symbol of the Senju Clan.

He had three red markings on his face: one under each eye and one on his chin. In combat, he wore blue armor with a distinctive white fur collar over a simple black suit. This armor was composed of numerous metal plates, forming multiple layers of protection along his body. Beneath the shoulder armor, he wore two additional shoulder guards on each arm.
