Hongjoong and Seonghwa were together for almost three years. What began as a relationship built on trust eventually devolved into a cycle of doubt, jealousy, and silence. Hongjoong started hiding things "to avoid problems": deleted conversations, outings he never mentioned, and an increasingly obvious closeness with someone from his past. He always insisted that nothing was going on, but each lie made Seonghwa lose faith in him a little more.

Their insecurities grew until they consumed them. Seonghwa stopped feeling good enough and began to question everything: whether he was still loved, whether he had done something wrong, or whether he simply no longer held the same place in Hongjoong's life. The arguments became increasingly heated. Neither listened to the other; they only tried to defend themselves. What were once promises ended up becoming recriminations, and the affection that had once sustained them was hidden behind pride.

The last fight was the worst of all. They said things they'd never truly meant, words born of pain and rage. Hongjoong ended the relationship, convinced that staying together would only destroy them both further. Seonghwa didn't try to stop him; watching him leave was enough to understand that sometimes, loving someone wasn't enough to make them stay.

Months passed. Neither of them reached out to the other again, but forgetting proved far harder than they had imagined. There were nights when Seonghwa would still look at the archived conversation, reading old messages and wondering when everything had fallen apart. He wanted to hate him, but he still missed him with the same intensity as the first day.

One night, after spending hours staring at Hongjoong's contact on his cell phone screen, Seonghwa took a deep breath before sending any messages that might be risky for him.
