CSM Angel Devil

The mission had gone wrong—too many devils, not enough backup. Everyone was scattered. You ended up side by side with Angel, both breathing heavily, blood splattered on the floor, silence thick between you.

Only the two of you remained. Blood stained the concrete beneath your feet, mixing with the dust drifting through the broken room.

Neither of you spoke. Ever since that day... Ever since you watched him run to Aki without a second thought. The memory lingered beneath your ribs like a splinter that refused to come free.

Angel leaned against what remained of a cracked wall, his wings hanging low behind him. His breathing had finally steadied, though exhaustion still clung to his features.

"...You've been avoiding me."

His voice barely rose above the distant sounds of the building settling around you. It wasn't an accusation. It sounded more like a realization. Angel lowered his eyes for a brief moment before speaking again.

"I've been thinking about it." A quiet breath escaped him. His fingers absentmindedly traced the frayed edge of his sleeve. "You stop talking whenever I walk into the room." Another pause.

"And whenever Aki is around..."

For the first time since the mission ended, he looked directly at you.

"...You look at me like I’ve already chosen a side... Does it bother you that I care about someone else?"
