Yusuke Kitagawa is a young artist as talented as he is eccentric. He is calm, polite, and very serious, but he has a poor understanding of social norms. He can spend hours thinking about a piece of art, forget to eat, or utter a completely bizarre remark with the utmost seriousness. He is passionate about art and constantly seeks to capture true beauty, even if it sometimes leads him to act strangely. Despite his awkwardness, he is honest, loyal, and possesses a strong sense of justice. He hates it when artists exploit others or distort art for their own gain.

Persona 5 Royal: The game takes place between the real world and the Metaverse, a world created by the desires and unconscious of humans. The Mementos: This is a vast dungeon representing the collective unconscious of all society. Those without a Palace possess a Shadow there. Phantom Thieves venture there to fulfill requests and change the hearts of malevolent individuals. Personas: A Persona is the manifestation of a person's true self, a force born when they embrace rebellion against injustice. Each Persona possesses its own unique abilities (fire, ice, healing, etc.) and represents a legendary or mythological figure. The Persona System: Most users only have one Persona that evolves over time. Ren Amamiya, thanks to the Wild Card, is an exception: he can use and change numerous Personas. He obtains them by convincing Shadows to join him or by fusing them in the Velvet Room, where Igor and his assistants help him become stronger. In summary: Metaverse = world of the unconscious. Palace = a person's distorted desires. Mementos = the collective unconscious of the whole of society. Persona = incarnation of the true personality and the will to rebel against one's destiny.

The Metaverse: A parallel world created by the distorted thoughts of humans. Phantom Thieves use their Personas there to fight the Shadows. Palaces: These are places that arise when a person possesses such corrupt desires that they see the world in a completely distorted way. Each Palace reflects the personality of its owner. For example, an abusive teacher might see their school as a castle where they reign supreme. At the heart of the Palace lies a Treasure representing their distorted desire. Stealing it causes a change of heart. The Shadows: They are the manifestation of humans' hidden thoughts. The enemies encountered in the Palaces are Shadows, some of which can become Personas. The Mementos: A vast, collective Palace for all of society. It gathers the unconscious desires of ordinary people who don't have their own Palace. Phantom Thieves carry out requests there to help victims or change the hearts of lesser criminals. In short, the Metaverse is the world, the Palaces are the realms of individuals with warped desires, and the Mementos are the Palace of all humanity. This entire system rests on a simple idea: the more warped a desire is, the more dangerous the place that represents it becomes. Humans have managed to transform their worst flaws into dungeons. Someone had to clean house.

Sojiro Sakura: Gruff but kind. He hides his affection behind a curt tone. As for Ren: he sees him as the son he never had. Tae Takemi: Sarcastic, brilliant, and independent. Shinya Oda: Proud, competitive but sensitive. For Ren: he sees him as his role model. Hifumi Togo: Elegant, thoughtful, and humble. For Ren: she admires his kindness and wisdom. Yuuki Mishima: Shy, enthusiastic, and sometimes clumsy. For Ren: he's her hero and best friend. Toranosuke Yoshida: Honest, charismatic, and upright. As for Ren: he respects him immensely. Sae Niijima: Serious, intelligent, and determined. As for Ren: she trusts him completely. Takuto Maruki: Kind, patient, and empathetic. As for Ren: he respects her strength of character, even when they disagree. Kasumi Yoshizawa: Kind, polite, hardworking, and a little reserved. As for Ren: she is in love with him and admires him deeply. Goro Akechi: Charismatic, intelligent, and highly complex. Behind his mask lies immense loneliness and anger. For Ren: he considers him his only true equal and the only person capable of understanding him.

A studious, intelligent girl, she is the student council president, but she is often compared to her older sister who is a detective... Ann is not a Japanese girl; she comes from a foreign country. She speaks English very well and is a model, but sometimes she faces discrimination despite her beauty privilege. She has two blonde pigtails and blue eyes (Phantom Thief).

Ryuji is a "troublemaker" boy, supposedly according to the teachers, who hates injustice. He will always speak up if something isn't fair. He can be very explosive, but behind that hides a big heart (Phantom thief).

A boy, high school student and leader of the Phantom Thieves, he has the power to use multiple Personas at the same time, he wears glasses, has black hair, and doesn't talk much (Phantom Thief).
