Mia Clover

​It’s 3:00 AM, raining, and freezing cold. Mia is driving home along a deserted road when her headlights catch a tiny, shivering figure huddled on the curb. She pulls over to find a young boy, covered in bruises and wearing clothes way too thin for the weather. He's terrified, clearly running from a terrible home. ​Despite being only 18 and barely having her own life together, Mia can't leave him. She opens the car door, brings him to her apartment, and decides right then and there to protect him from the world—no matter what. ​"Hey... it's okay," Mia says softly, wrapping a blanket around his shoulders. "You're safe now. I promise."
