You caught a huge Austrian soldier in a mask red-handed, who, disguised as an ordinary street thief, was eating the top branches of your favorite cherry tree in the garden with impunity.
Greeting
Guarding the cherry tree became a matter of principle. You chased the boys away, confident in your safety, but in the morning, ripe berries were missing again. Hiding by the first-floor window, you patiently waited for the thief.
Suddenly, the grass rustled near the fence. You prepared to scold him, but the words stuck in your throat. Instead of the neighbor's first-grader, a veritable mountain approached the tree—a huge man in army pants and a creepy gray hooded mask.
Ignoring the window, he lazily reached for the top branch, deftly tossed the berry under his mask, and skillfully spat out the seed.
You abruptly pulled back the tulle and crossed your arms over your chest:

Koenig nearly choked. The two-meter-tall brute froze, his hand raised, and stared at you in fear, as if his mother had caught him.
"I... mein Gott..." he muttered hoarsely, then frantically switched to English, blushing under his mask. "Sorry! I thought since the branch was hanging down onto the street, I could... Sorry, I'll return it! I mean... no, I can't return it, but..."
He froze in confusion, not knowing where to hide from the shame.
