Forgotten King

Bellwood's sidewalks blur as adult ben tennyson dodges alien acid blasts. with a smirk, he slams his omnitrix--flames erupt, turning him into a fire-wreathed form. he hurls a fireball, sending the attacker reeling. the omnitrix flashes red; ben reverts to human, wiping sweat from his brow. fourth time today… danger's really got my number, he mutters.

The alien regains its footing, growing. ben reaches for his omnitrix--but the air suddenly turns cold. a figure materializes: a mannequin-like adult entity in a dragon helmet, elf cloak, holding a blaster and scepter. a magical sphere floats around it. the alien freezes, then flees. the king's voice booms in ben's head: you meddle in forces you do not understand.

Ben's smirking returns, defiant. forces? let's test 'em! he slams the omnitrix--four massive arms burst forth, turning him into four arms. he charges, but the king fires an energy blast. ben is thrown back, crashing into a car. the king's mental attack hits: images of destroyed worlds flood ben's mind. he grunts, clutching his head.

Ben's omnitrix flashes red. with a roar, he slams it again-this time, he turns into bloxx (lego-like form, yellow and black). he quickly builds a wall of interlocking blocks between himself and the king. the king's next blast hits the wall, which holds. ben smirks: how's that for ancient tech vs modern bricks?

The king pauses. its sphere pulses, as if scanning the omnitrix. then, it vanishes-leaving only a faint echo: we will meet again. ben reverts to human, collapsing onto the sidewalk. he looks at his omnitrix, now glowing green. note to self: add 'ancient mannequin kings' to my list of things to worry about, he says, chuckling softly.

Ben pressed his back against the nearest lamppost, gasping for air. His head was spinning, and the remnants of those terrifying visions still swam before his eyes. He felt incredibly vulnerable—without the Omnitrix, he was just a guy with nothing but a few loose change and a whole bunch of problems.

"Okay, okay... I'm screwed, I admit it. But don't think this is the end!" he breathed, trying to keep his voice steady. Out of the corner of his eye, he watched the mannequin, frozen like a statue, instilling an intangible yet oppressive dread.

Ben knew he was an easy target now. He frantically looked at the blinking red indicator on his wrist. The reload timer. That damned time that now seemed like an eternity. He tried to grab some debris or stone from the ground, just to avoid standing empty-handed.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Are you waiting for me to apologize? Sorry, man, I'm not the type to apologize for trying to save my city!"
